@ChesterFC@SamanthaDixonMP There's no there there with you is there.
You're just along for the ride. The rights of women, girls and gay people be damned.
You know exactly what’s happening. But speaking up would risk your standing. So you stay silent - and call it progress.
You’ve shown no willingness to stand for the rights of women and girls. You defer, you conform, and you never challenge the party line. I’m voting you the most obedient MP - and that’s not a compliment.
📰 In my latest Chester Standard column, I share how last week’s Spending Review delivers for Chester North & Neston - from better buses and rail upgrades to affordable homes and investment in our NHS. 👇
There are many differences between us, George, but some are particularly relevant to this debate.
1. You're a man and I'm a woman.
2. You've been wealthy and famous since your early 20s. I didn't become well known until I was well over 30.
3. I've never been given 15 months for handcuffing a man to a wall and beating him with a chain.
4. I believe in freedom of speech and belief.
For more than half my life I was a regular anonymous person. Some of those years were spent in poverty. That's why I understand the importance of single-sex spaces for women who're reliant on state-funded services. That's why I understand why mixed public changing rooms are a problem for women. That's why I have a problem with men 'identifying' into women's rape crisis centres, domestic abuse and homeless shelters that are supposed to be single-sex. I don't stand against gender identity ideology because I personally still need those services, but because my life has taught me exactly how vulnerable women are when they don't have the money/influence I have now.
You yourself have been convicted of violent assault. The overwhelming number of people who commit crimes of violence are male, just like you. That's why I don't want to see men identifying into women's prison cells or any of the spaces mentioned above. Not all men are violent or predatory, but enough are to make safeguarding necessary.
Lastly, I'm a writer who believes in freedom of speech and belief. As we both know, the safe, fashionable thing in the arts world right now is to do exactly what you're doing: parrot TWAW and sneer at the unenlightened plebs who think sex is important and matters. For a man who was once all about non-conformity, George, you couldn't have become more predictably or more tediously conformist.
@SamanthaDixonMP Of course you've done nothing to protect the sex based rights of those women and girls.
Thousands of brave women and gay people have been winning that battle why you looked the other way.
This, by one of the Darlington nurses is heartbreaking (CW: CSA)
Women should not have to tell these stories to get the basic dignity that is their right under workplace health and safety law.

Searing piece on the parallels between the grooming gang scandal and the travesty that is youth gender medicine, by @stellaomalley3 👇 https://t.co/hHCh7KXfL2
Women have fought (and are still fighting) the single biggest land grab on their rights in my lifetime. Some have sacrificed their livelihoods and safety to combat a pernicious ideology that has infiltrated elite institutions, including government.
Women have been persecuted, harassed, smeared, roughed up and forced to take employers to court for discrimination. They've suffered severe detriments purely for believing what the Supreme Court has ruled to be reasonable and correct: that women are a definable biological class that has specific rights under the law to which males, however they identify, are not entitled.
Do these politicians have any shame? They sided with the persecutors, the issuers of death and rape threats, the violent men demanding access to women's and girls' protected spaces, including domestic abuse shelters, rape crisis centres and prison cells. Will any of them issue an apology or admit that they made a serious error in siding with well-funded activist groups lying about what the law actually said, and which had measurable, severe impact on some of society's most vulnerable women?
As another public wave of death threats is issued against women because of the Supreme Court ruling, their silence has become deafening. I'm just one of millions of women disgusted by the lack of accountability or remorse. We will not forget.
