@geekedout__@TechnovityTech Yep, not really what I expected
I have ~6 on Windows laptop full brightness
and ~7 on my Air M5 full brightness.
both are on light use btw otherwise my windows wouldn't last that long.
@TheGalox_@zacbowden Neo can be brighter than this but having a 120Hz display at this price point is very nice.
But it would be interesting to see how efficient the display is on both laptops. I know my Macbook Air is terrible when I'm using it at the high/max brightness, no idea on Neo though.
Very efficient CPU + Inefficient Screen
vs
Inefficient CPU + Efficient Screen
I tried to have both laptops at the same brightness, the right one has a 400 nits screen.
This is why my Mac has terrible battery life when I'm on high brightness.
@OutofGalaxyy As long as you have lower brightness, it lasts days.
But if you're in a high brightness environment like I do, cut that in half. My Mac lasts 7 hours at 90-100% brightness. Literally 1 hour more than my work laptop thanks to the inefficient LED backlight the Mac has.
@darshan_gupta17@CodeWithAmann Typical ASUS shit 🤦
I don't know who thinks that putting the wlan card under the ssd is a good idea. and then having a crappy wlan card installed.
@Curstantine@mehrdadisaloo@OutofGalaxyy it's always a Dell with shitty modern standby, I used to have one and the sleep performance was shit. Changed to an Acer and it's like 10% overnight. Not great compared to my M5 Air (0-5% inconsistently overnight) but much better than my pos latitude.
@Long2008ml_VN@OutofGalaxyy it’s good when you are working at weird laptop angle or using some kind of gloves, I’m mainly a trackpad user but having a trackpoit as a secondary input is nice.
Oh and 180 deg hinges are nice. Switch to my M5 Air and I’m annoyed that I can’t open wide like how I used to.
A bit weird but I actually have 0 BSOD on my 1 y/o $600 Acer laptop while 1.5 months in and my $1600 M5 air already has 2 hangs (need to power cycle) and 1 kernel panic. My Mac is kaput maybe?
@OutofGalaxyy Seeing this makes me miss my old T490, just fun times.
Moving to other laptops and the latest being M5 Air, and I'm still thinking about a ThinkPad like I should have bought another one but can't afford it anymore (it is actually more expensive than my 24/1T M5 Air)
