#WATCH | The Indian Coast Guard, operating in coordination with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Gujarat, successfully thwarted a major maritime narcotics-smuggling attempt in the Arabian Sea, west of Lakshadweep. Acting on actionable intelligence, the Indian Coast Guard assets conducted precise sea-air surveillance and maintained continuous tracking before initiating a hot pursuit and boarding a suspicious Iranian dhow on 25 September 2026.

The high-seas operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 526 kilograms of high-grade contraband, comprising heroin and methamphetamine, valued at over Rs 3,000 crore in international markets. Five Pakistani nationals operating the vessel were also apprehended.

The intercepted dhow, its crew, and the seized contraband have been escorted to Mumbai under armed protection for joint interrogation and comprehensive multi-agency legal proceedings.
