794 bodies recovered. Thousands still unaccounted for. Tell us, what was their crime?

I am writing this from the Himalayas from a country responsible for only around 0.1% of global greenhouse-gas emissions. Nearly 46% of our land is covered by forests. Around 94% of our installed electricity capacity comes from hydropower. We are rapidly moving away from fossil-fuel vehicles too: EVs accounted for about 74% of Nepal’s four-wheeled passenger vehicle imports in 2025/26. We protect forests. We generate electricity from our rivers. We are embracing electric mobility at a pace few countries in the world have matched. Yet today, our people are digging through mud, searching rivers and waiting beside phones for the names of their loved ones.

The Bhote Koshi flash flood has shown us what it means to live beneath a rapidly changing cryosphere. Our glaciers are retreating, our frozen mountains are becoming increasingly unstable, and the rivers that generate our clean electricity can also carry destruction into communities below. We did not build our prosperity by burning generations of coal and oil. We contributed almost nothing to creating the climate crisis at this scale. But we are being forced to survive its consequences. The people whose bodies are being pulled from rivers did not cause this crisis. The families still waiting for thousands of missing people did not cause it. The children, farmers, workers and mountain communities who lost everything did not cause it.

So from the Himalayas, we ask the industrialised world: how many Himalayan bodies will be enough? How many mothers must wait for children who never return? How many villages must disappear before “climate justice” becomes more than a speech at another conference? Do not come to us only with sympathy after the bodies have been counted. Come with responsibility. Come with climate finance, adaptation, loss-and-damage support and the courage to cut emissions at the scale this emergency demands. We want climate justice. We want the right to survive in our own mountains. We want a world where being born in the Himalayas is not a death sentence for a crisis we did not create.

Don’t you have any shame or accountability? Stop protecting wilful defaulters. Drag them to court, recover every rupee, and publicly disclose the names and details wherever legally permitted.

Its name is Hindu.
Its nakshatra is Vishnu’s.
Its central figures come from Hindu scripture.
Its cultural memory is unmistakably Hindu.

The feedback I got back about the review meeting that took place yesterday is that the Secretary Kumaragurubaran IAS pushed for continuing the same type of activities which @PKSekarbabu did the last 5 years.
Activities which cost Hindu Temples ₹5000 Crores in 5 years. Perhaps more. My request to @RameshOffcl is to put his foot down and revamp the Department for God’s sake.

We, temple devotees, expect far bigger things from Shri @RameshOffcl - he should first go after the Elephants and not the mouses - in the corruption issues of @tnhrcedept
No. 01 - the Prasadam Stalls in Temples under licence from the Department are all frauds. The items sold there are not Prasadam. Only traditional food items prepared in a pious manner in the temple kitchen and offered to Bhagwan or Devi during poojas are Prasadam. Some possible quantity of it shd be distributed to devotees free of cost. Never sold.

Whenever Shri @RameshOffcl visits a temple officially, the he shd primarily focus on the following;
a. Violation of Court orders by @tnhrcedept officials.
b. He shd ask for a copy of legally valid order of appointment of Executive Officer. If there is no such order, he shd follow the directions of Hon’ble Division Bench given in Jan 2026 in Kallazhagar Temple case.
c. Pending audit objections for the temple
d. Property registers of the temple prepared under Sections 29, 30 and 31
e. List of major temple for which servants of @tnhrcedept have been appointed as Fit Persons
f. No renovation of temples without approvals from TN Heritage Commission
g. No compulsory collection from temples to Common Good Fund by the Commissioner or his subordinates
i. No utilisation of Common Good Fund by the Commissioner or his subordinates.
j. Full compliance of RTI Act, 2005 by the Department. He SHOULD FURTHER:
k. Take criminal action against the Commissioners in the past 15 years who approved misappropriation of temple funds for buying luxury cars, using temple funds for constructions improvements in HR&CE offices including construction of toilets, meeting halls, reception area and canteen.
l. Take action against the Commissioner who took ₹ 5.00 lakhs from Tiruttani temple to construct a library in the office of the Commissioner
m. Take action against the Commissioner who took ₹3.00 Crores for construction of municipal bus stand in Pazhani
n. Take action against the Commissioner who took ₹2 Crores from 5 different temples to construct Joint Commissioner’s office in Madurai

You will not get a proper reply from these guys. I work in this field I know a little, I have worked on OpenAI, Anthropic and other companies models (they don't have access to government archives, court records that they can give us a proper picture).

Anyway, here's some more fact: Ram mohan Roy's brother did not even die in 1811 (this is what Google and LLMs will give you, then they might correct to 1810, but the real story, (as per official revenue records, court deposition, verified by Brajendranath bRadopadhyay or smth 😂),that the brother died in 1806 in the prison, so there couldn't have been any immediate "jumping on the burning pyre" or forcing her to jump, (the so called 17 yr old wife). Anyway, when the sources (most of them are inaccurate, do not hold up on cross verification, there's no point in even going on with this, a lot of fabrications, after death made up stories and so on are at work here.
One thing should be clear is that sati was not a Hindu thing -> recorded by the British themselves, that the Hindus are shocked and appalled that something like sati even exists (not word to word but u get the idea), (in the 1829 Sati Ban regulation docs).

Anyway, unless the government forms a committee to verify the real truth about things (ram mohan roys story), people will keep spreading whatever they want. But the fake stories of Sati are clear, the British at times confirm these things themselves, which is good. Otherwise traitors in this country will call any report as unfair if dharma isn't painted as evil
