Disappointed with my Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4Z Automatic. The vehicle has run only 45,000 km and has been regularly serviced. After receiving repeated “Engine Oil Level Low” warnings, I left it at the service center for inspection.
Now I’m being told that Cylinder 3 has a compression issue and that the engine may need to be removed for further diagnosis, potentially leading to a huge repair bill.
For a vehicle known for reliability and durability, how can such a major engine issue occur at just 45,000 km? I expect Toyota to investigate this matter thoroughly and provide appropriate support rather than placing the entire burden on the customer.
@Toyota_India Please clarify and assist.
@nsarathc That’s my concern as well. Other than the low oil level warning, there were no obvious signs of an engine problem. I’ll definitely explore a second opinion.
@hagaonx Thank you! 😊 That’s the plan. I just hope Toyota helps me get through this unexpected hiccup so the Innova can get back to doing what it’s known for—clocking those million kilometers.
@vmanjunath Fair point. Before approving an engine teardown, I want to be absolutely sure the diagnosis is accurate. Given how unusual this issue is at 45,000 km, a second opinion from a high-volume Toyota center may be worth considering.
Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve already escalated the issue and all service records are available in Toyota’s system. My concern is that if another dealership sees the same history and diagnosis, wouldn’t they arrive at the same conclusion? At this stage, I’m hoping for a deeper technical review and support from Toyota itself.
@vmanjunath That’s what makes this so surprising. The car is 5 years old but maintained like new, with no underbody damage or harsh usage. A major engine issue at just 45,000 km simply doesn’t add up.
@JmTeamsuzuki@Toyota_India The cost isn’t the piston ring, it’s the fact that a Toyota engine needs to be opened at just 45,000 km. That’s the part that’s hard to digest.
@vvardhan143 Nope everything seems fine & the car is running in excellent condition I don’t know what made them tell the issue no check engine lights nothing it’s just they say even they don’t know what’s the issue to check an issue they need to remove the engine
