I wonder if this whole healing work can sometimes be a filter that we view ourselves & others through, making us far from ‘what actually is’/reality.
Some smart, resourceful & intelligent people I know are stuck in prisms of their own making. I’m sure I am too, in ways I don’t realize. My only hope is to see things for as they are not what I want them to be. 1/n
While I don’t aim to trivialize anyone’s experience or otherwise. Our lives are our own to lead & endure. Projection & counter-transference are selectively helpful.
It’s always a good time to expand your emotional vocabulary. Imagine just how much miscommunication you can avoid by accurately labeling your emotions and their depth. Were you really “upset” or were you actually disappointed? Were you “anxious” or excited?
