I work in tech. I'm on maternity leave. I'm falling behind on AI in real time. So I'm going to figure it out in public. For every parent-founder who doesn't have time for a 45-minute podcast, this account is for you. Welcome to Shreya, Interrupted.
I spoke to a fellow mum about AI. Her first thought wasn’t “wow”, it was, “My kids’ faces, voices and whereabouts are being collected without consent.” She felt guilty for not being more excited. I realised I don’t feel the same. Has working in tech made us numb to privacy loss?
Ladies, the glass ceiling isn't made of glass. It's made of approval. The day you stop needing everyone to be okay with your choices is the day you break the ceiling.
I'm still working on it, honestly.
The instant gratification of AI writing means the joy of rewriting, and editing will become a rare skill. I thought AI could never produce writing that captured human emotion well. Came across an article today that genuinely fooled me. Where the future of writing is going.
@MikeJensonIII@smitabarooah How could you tell? Genuinely surprised because I didn't think AI could capture human emotion or writing about human emotion well
@AuthorGFAllen The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is hauntingly beautiful. I have devoured every single work by him I think his style of writing is incredible. If you're into sci-fi, I also highly recommend Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.
AI can make things cheaper, better, faster but it's only as good as the execution into real life. AI is not going to make your lifespan longer or give you more time with your loved ones unless you put in the effort. What are you really doing with the hours saved with AI?
@rousseaukazi Love the pov. I've introduced Claude to my toddler. Watching him come up with ridiculous, yet fun projects for Claude to do every 30 minutes has been an inspiration for me to stop being so rigid, go with the flow, and truly experiment with what these tools can do for us.
@WritesToProfit Curious who you are reaching out to via cold DMs. I'm finding that these businesses are generally mistrustful of emails that talk about AI or pitching AI services. How do you build trust in that first email?
@jordantcarlisle I went in for a doctor's checkup and asked for a blood report with all markers. The GP only had one thing to say, "You're young, you're healthy, you don't need to do this." It just isn't enough for us to be proactive. The system and the infrastructure need to evolve with us.
