@KenRoth I am suspecting that all the powers that be want a fragmented Myanmar. China wants that so that they have a check and balance between the junta and the resistance. The US wants that so that China will be slowed down with the BRI and CMEC. Maybe I am paranoid.
Sharing my op-ed, “Indonesia’s Place in the World’s First Crimes Against Humanity Convention,” for Independent Observer, 19-25 June 2026. It examines Indonesia position in the ongoing UN negotiations toward what could become the world’s first Convention on Crimes Against Humanity

@rohmerfan1127 Castillo's LinkedIn contains posts that condemn the Myanmar resistance for fighting (https://t.co/94P76Pkbgw) and advocate for America not "punishing" but rather "engaging" with the junta (https://t.co/wcjGn1mw84), so it's very clear what his priorities are.

Myanmar’s regime has proposed an anti-scam law including the death penalty, but transnational crime expert Jason Tower warns it could be used against political enemies.
@IrrawaddyNews I’m skeptical that any outside envoy is going to achieve much vis-a-vis the crisis in Myanmar, but good that FS Lazaro is meeting ethnic groups.
Myanmar’s natural resources can support regional &global prosperity, but meaningful cooperation requires the restoration of federal democracy, the rule of law& freedom. Without democratic governance, resource wealth will only strengthen military control & prolong authoritarianism
Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun criticized the Security Council’s annual 2025 report, by stating that it reflected an inability to fulfill the mandate to protect civilians in Burma by its own military. Read more in today's Daily Briefing: https://t.co/sSayn1v9im
India is the world's biggest democracy. PM Modi should not be shaking the blood-stained hands of the illegitimate military leader of #Myanmar. India should call for the immediate release of Aung San Suu Kyi and recognize @NUGMyanmar instead. 🇲🇲🇮🇳
@Billee4d is spot-on. Folks in DC who know nothing about Myanmar will learn the hard way if they think engaging the junta (even in its new clothes) will produce much. The generals play by their own rules.
My latest in @Fulcrum_ISEAS: The junta's "new" administration is a rebranding exercise while brutality escalates. The impulse in Washington to engage will backfire as the US lacks the leverage to avoid an outcome that undermines its interests.

@sheehanj920 I am usually careful when a group is doing redundant stuff as it can draw support away from the main group like the independents do here with votes or do something similar with a little twist for insidious sabotage. The majority of our people are still very unsophisticated.
@shwe_james SCEF themselves suggested they do!: https://t.co/QwuJENhXCG
& I agree with you, considering PCB seems to have very little momentum while involving some notable parties... meaning alignment with SCEF seems it could be rather beneficial for all sides.
