Many thanks to my friend, @LilianHsiao, for visiting the lab last Friday and for a lovely seminar. Lilian presented her seminal work on shear thickening and linear rheology of rough particles. We all benefitted a lot from your seminar, discussions, and suggestions. Excited!
Excited to present of our latest study unveiling intriguing findings on pair-interactions in chemically active micro-droplets. Our work provides strong experimental evidence highlighting the dominant chemical interactions at lower Pe which is linked to their chemical polarity.
Greetings on the occasion of #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience. India witnessed doubling of women scientists in last 10 years - still behind global average. No of women in Maths n Eng. is a concern. @IndiaDST initiated #VigyanJyoti and #GATI to address these concerns.
I am honored and humbled to be a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences (https://t.co/Rmwwer7llc), the academy founded by none other than Sir C V Raman in 1934. https://t.co/kXXQJjizZp
Do you know that a hysteresis loop can not guarantee a material to be thixotropic? Check out our latest article in the Journal of Rheology for more information https://t.co/WSq4P0h7bp #rheology#everythingflows#thixotropy#JoR
Active droplet gets deformed & does zigzag motion with puller-neutral-pusher swimming mode switching. An observation in our recent study revealed how bulk viscoelastic media affects dynamics of active droplets. link https://t.co/zErDHJCAsn #activedroplet#activeparticle@mangalr
…Hooke did all his own illustrations and figures. Here’s a beautiful design of a water wheel and linkage. Many thanks to Jon B of @royalsociety library for finding EXACTLY what I needed…
Spent an amazingly fun afternoon in the @royalsociety library reading Hooke’s original 1674-75 papers on fluids and solids, as well as his correspondence with Newton. Here’s the original “stood on the shoulder of giants” quote…
Inspired by Edwin Abbott’s satirical novel ‘Flatland’, ‘Squaring the Circle’ is a perspective sculpture by artist group Troika which is perceived in correlation to the position of the observer

Teacher’s greatest joy is when his student does better than him.
I could not achieve what my PhD student Yogesh Joshi achieved.
Feel so so proud!
Here,I bask in the glory of two shining geniuses.
Yogesh & @AshishLele3467 are both products of @csir_ncl
Congratulations to the 2022 SoR fellows: Aloyse Franck @TAInstruments, Yogesh Joshi @iitkampur, Carlos Rinaldi-Ramos @CRinaldi_UF, Amy Shen @OISTedu, Michael Soloman @profmjsolo and John Tsamopoulos @upatras. More about each fellow: https://t.co/UhtPBXJnj9
