Start asking God for more than just money. Ask Him to increase your capacity to handle what comes with it. Ask to become someone who leads well, loves well, and serves well. The blessing without the character to carry it will not last. Pray for both.
Personally, I wish people like Kirk Franklin would simply go ahead and admit they want to do rap or R&B, and stop pretending that they are Christians who want to glorify God with their music when CLEARLY nothing could be further from the truth.
Ask God to restore your appetite for life. Your ideas. Your energy. Your curiosity. Your confidence. Your hope for the future. Sometimes you don't need a completely new life. You need to reconnect with the parts of yourself you stopped nurturing.
I wish more adults showed kids how to tie their passions to a more stable career. Can’t make it to the NBA? Why not go into sports law, sports medicine, or sports/entertainment consulting?
please teach your daughters that having a voice is more important than being nice. having a backbone is more important than being palatable. having standards is more important than being liked. and having self respect is more important than being chosen.
I was reading and our son tried to ask me something.
My husband stops him and goes:
“What’s in her hand?”
“A book.”
“What’s in my hand?”
“Nothing.”
“So who do you go talk to?”
The way I’ve never felt more supported in my life.
Ngl adult friendships require GRACE. People are very busy. People are HEALING. People are GROWING. People are taking time for SELF CARE just like you. Less communication isn’t less love. Check in don’t check out.
dear apple, the iPod needs to come back. not for nostalgia. for the parents who want their kids to love music and audiobooks without a browser, social media, and the whole internet attached to it
don't know who needs to hear this, but start living. the days are flying by, and all you do is work, pay bills, and stress. enjoy what you can - walks, sunsets, music, laughter and nature. joy doesn't have to be expensive. you deserve it.
my bro who divorced 2 weeks ago told me this:
“all of us are selective sinners. we choose the sin we are comfortable with, and judge others that commit the ones we are not comfortable with.”
Believers, test every teaching by these standards:
• Does it line up with the Bible?
• Does it bring glory to God, or ourselves?
• Does it encourage holiness, or worldliness?
We are overstimulated and we don't even notice. Netflix while eating. Reels in the bathroom. Music while cooking. Podcasts on walks. We consume by default, not by intention. You keep filling every gap, then wonder why you feel foggy and unmotivated. Boredom and silence are the real growth drivers. They give you space to think and create. That's when solutions show up for problems that have been stuck for months. Leave some room.
