At today's daily close $MTPLF Market Cap is about $9.1B USD.

In order for 3350.T to open for trading, it has to gap up to about ~2201-2205 YEN depending on USD/JPY exchange rate ~143

Apparently during pre-market, 3350.T again did not pass the auction process and there were no seller at this price; eventually it settled at 1083 YEN

This is the 3rd day in a row that 3350.T has been halted and assuming if the short interest still at 25% according to Apr'25 data, then Hedge Fund still has to cover their shares borrowed 117.91M

How could this trading halt condition potentially be resolved?

1. Potentially they have to do separate meeting in Japanese OTC desk (outside of public market) and settled with Metaplanet management based on what price that management is agreed upon.

Could this be done? and at what cost?

2. HedgeFund can wait for $BTC price to come down or correct to at least $80K - $90K (according to Josh Mandell) to ease their short pressure.

At this very moment, Bitcoin just made a new ATH and surpassed $110K. In order to confirm this upside momentum, it has to defend 106K level as its current support.

Anything above $106K+ level, then momentum is still very strong where it could do another bull flag or bull wedge consolidation.

Below $106K level, then next target would be $102.8K, $100K

How long can short HedgeFund wait for BTC correction before they get margin call or liquidate their fund ?

We'll see..

3. Short HedgeFund could wait for demand in overseas US/German market to settle down, so that the daily gap is < 10% from the previous closing day. In this case, JSE could open 3350.T for normal trading hour for them to unwind their short.

How soon can it happen?
How much daily volume does it take to unwind their position?

It remains to be seen!

I never seen this type of short squeeze before where stock exchange trading rule could actually cause a major short squeeze.

I was participating in $GME saga 2021. At that time peak to trough exponential gain was 2200%+.

How exponential this Metaplanet saga is?
