In Africa’s agrifood systems, value chain development, especially agro-processing, is central to job creation as population growth, urbanization & rising incomes drive an expanding & more diversified food demand.
Beyond primary agriculture, employment is increasingly concentrated in processing, logistics, storage & distribution, which play a critical role in linking farmers to markets & supporting food system transformation.
