Someone I've known for twenty years lives a couple of blocks away. He is not a partisan, he does not post about the Middle East, and he is not the sort of person who chants anything.

Out of the blue, he asked me: "Do you think there's a genocide in Gaza?"

No, I told him. By every metric that matters — legal, historical, statistical — there is not.

He looked at me the way you look at someone who has just told you the earth is flat. Netanyahu wants to eliminate the Palestinian people, he said. Everybody knows that.

Not a study. Not a court ruling. Not a casualty figure. Just a thing everybody knows.

I have spent forty years as a reporter learning that "everybody knows" is where investigations begin, not where they end.

Tomorrow on Just the Facts: Genocide for Dummies: a plain-language piece on what the word actually means under international law, how Gaza compares on every relevant metric, and why even the strongest case for the genocide charge still doesn't clear the bar the word requires.

By the way, I know the title will bother some readers, and I address that directly in the piece. My argument is not that the subject is trivial — it is that the word is being used by people who cannot define it, at a threshold they have never examined, with a confidence that bears no relationship to the evidence.

Spare me the 'trans siblings' guilt trip. In India, many of these 'trans' people are same-sex attracted boys pushed into the hijra community, castrated, and forced into prostitution

— that's not liberation, that's mutilation and trafficking of gay bodies. We don't want that imported horror here. Gay and lesbian kids should be allowed to grow up as who they are, not chemically castrated or surgically altered because they don't fit stereotypes.

I understand the criticism. As a contributing author, I just want to point out that there are several women calling out the homophobia of the trans movement. Each contributor has a unique perspective. I didn't agree 100% with that part but the larger pt of her essay still stands, IMO.

Two things keep Islam from dying out.

1. Apostasy laws: Rules that punish people who leave Islam.

2. Blasphemy laws: Rules that stop people from freely criticising Islam.

Without these two laws, Islam would not have survived.

Jonah Wheeler is one of the smartest young politicians the Democratic party has seen in years, and the other Democrats in New Hampshire have treated him abominably over his rejection of gender ideology.

If the Dems had any sense at all, they'd recognize that the public is on his side on this issue and embrace him as the future of the party. Instead, they walk out of the legislative chamber when he speaks. It's disgraceful.

This man is a US Democrat.

To us, that matters.

We've been saying that the demarcation line is no longer Democrat v Republican, left v right, or progressive v conservative.

It's reality v ideology.

You don't have to reject liberalism to reject gender ideology. You simply have to start taking liberalism serious.

It's very encouraging that this political reorientaion is getting more difficult to ignore by the minute.
