🚨Here we go!! 🚨
It’s a big pleasure to share my very first first-author PhD paper finally. I will make a big thread about it later. But for now, if you are interested in T-cell trafficking across the blood-brain barrier, this is a new read for you and it’s a happy day for me!
Endothelial antigen presentation is not made for T cell trafficking... very happy to finally share this study with all of you - https://t.co/OtrtIoCOOP
and the technicians who contributed so much to this manuscript. Their hard work made this paper all the more meaningful. Please reach out if you have any questions or comments!
🔔New publication!🔔 Excited to share a study that started during my PhD and was beautifully brought to completion by Javier Pareja, PhD in the Engelhardt Lab.

I am incredibly thankful to everyone who helped move this project forward over the years. While Javi and I led the work under the supervision of Britta Engelhardt, I want to give special appreciation to the early-career trainees, some of whom I had the joy of mentoring,
I need people to understand how difficult it is to get an NIH grant. You spend months writing a proposal, following strict guidelines that include a detailed multiyear budget, bios of everyone on your team, plans for participant safety & ethical conduct. Then you send it off -1/n
We congratulate Professor of Pharmacology,
@joann_trejo, Ph.D., M.B.A., for being elected to the British Pharmacological Society Honorary Fellowship!

Always so proud to be a part of Ben’s scientific family tree 🤍 I wish I could have spoken with him more than a couple times, but I know that so much of the way Ben approached science was passed down to me from my PhD mentor, and I’m so grateful for that!
🚨 paper alert!! Thrilled to finally share part of my grad school work out today in @NeuroCellPress!
Will be of particular interest to those studying endothelial-microglial interaction. Spoiler alert - PLX5622 has off-target effects on ECs! A 🧵 below..

It has been a great pleasure to mentor Mahek, who came from Pune, India, to the Daneman Lab as a visiting undergrad for four months! Working with self-driven and eager-to-learn students gives me so much energy! I am excited for her future science career.
Stoked to share our new paper with @Britta_in_Bern@eLife! Analyzing immune cell-endothelium interactions is laborious. Our UFMTrack tool automates this analysis, matches expert accuracy, and eliminates bias. Kudos to Mykhailo for leading this work! https://t.co/GLxU6IItI9
I had the pleasure of presenting some of my new data on cerebrovascular changes in ALS at the inaugural Reinvigorating Innovation in ALS meeting at UCLCC. As a newcomer to ALS research, the insights I gained were invaluable. Such a fantastic start in such a great organization!
On my way to my very first ALS meeting! I'll be presenting fresh data on molecular changes in the BBB in ALS patients. Even my lab hasn't seen these results yet! Super excited to meet experts in the field and learn more!
@DrBenSegalNeuro Next time we have a meeting, we can bring the respective pawties and have a discussion! Georgie is thinking of applying to a dogtorate school.
