@BionicBerger@ChuckRocha what side. I just pointed out that someone who swaps endorsements when pissy is clearly not someone who stands up for their beliefs.
@nimion7@jaeminstevejobs no dumbass idek what caste I am. my family has been in the US for ages. I get that temples do this but how is a 20 year old responsible for where their parents give money. and how do they deserve racism bc of that.
@BionicBerger@ChuckRocha ? she supported El-Sayed though. she endorsed him. by anyone's definition, whether you support El-Sayed or Rogers, she is clearly not someone who stands up for what she believes in
@nimion7@jaeminstevejobs again, while there are certainly people who do this, particularly privileged American H1-B immigrants, it is not a majority or even plurality of diasporic Indians. and a lot of the people getting hate are 2nd gen students, who I simply disbelieve are donating to unsavory causes
@nimion7@jaeminstevejobs You think the UT Austin students posted by Texas Railroad Commission candidate Bo French, who are 18-20 years old, are sending money back home to the BJP and RSS? lol come on man
@nimion7@jaeminstevejobs I also don't understand your myopic worldview. Why cant both anti-Indian racism in the West and caste-based apartheid in India be wrong and deeply unwelcome in the world we strive for?
@BionicBerger@ChuckRocha lol her belief is...what? completely swapping ideologies bc someone didnt totally agree with her on Israel? if she was someone who truly "stood up for her beliefs" she would have run as a Republican from day one.
@nimion7@jaeminstevejobs you try being uyghur in china, a woman in korea, or a person with a skin tone darker than beige in any of the above countries and see how you're treated.
but the point is that literally doesnt matter. no matter what a country does racism targeted at individuals is nonsensical.
@gendervivivi honestly these days, particularly in big cities, meetings have gotten a lot more open to "other issues" being brought in. sorry u had that experience. AA is honestly more of a loose collective of vaguely related meetings than a real organization of any type.
@marilasoledad Andy Beshear is the governor of KY and has made little to no capitulation on the subject of trans rights. I'm not sure why Turek thinks this is a winning strategy vs copying Beshears tried and true playbook on balancing trans rights and running in a deep red state.
