Splats are getting larger and more detailed. The dataset for this scan of Koriyama Castle in Japan is half a gigabyte. But it loads nearly instantly. Imagine being able to visit perfect digital copies of any location in the world - this is where SuperSplat is heading.

@ShreyashT25@GabRoXR@Antigravity_HQ I can't render 3D footage with a maximum size limit of 2GB mate...Splatica & Scaniverse are specialized in 360 renderings, supporting files up to 20 GB per upload. For the rest there's KiriEngine - best splats ever for pennies on the dollar ($50/year - unlimited everything).
@AurelienCa80656 Not yet since this drone can get very close to the ground. I've had sessions where I get close to the ground, then mid-ground, then higher up.
This is my first scan, as described - https://t.co/r058DEf10r
Also new to stitching splats. Willing to experiment.
@AurelienCa80656 Been learning a lot from you already. I've done only aerial 3DGS with regular drone, now using the Avata 360 which I find a game changer for immersive experiences. I'm also using it as a substitute to terrestrial cameras. Looking forward to cross-share more on this topic 🙏
@AurelienCa80656 Sharing my observations on the Avata 360 soon. Learning curve been steep so far. Feels like there's so much to learn before optimizing flights to yield quality splats that require Little post-processing.
@AurelienCa80656 It's a good market. Interesting to see how will pan out. Motion controller is very good for this kind of job IMO. I'm mapping ancient sites and turning them into immersive experiences. It's super fun. Will share more soon.
@AurelienCa80656 No, it's just a recommendation. Been using an RC since forever. After trying the motion controller, it feels like I can never return to the RC again. Flight mobility is so much better, especially when you're mapping tight places.
@AncientEpoch The KTK tunnel is something worth exploring while there. It's off the beaten path. Looks super ancient, built to connect with the galleries of the temple complex.
@ForSureHooman @AncientEpoch@Filippobiondi_1 They did both Lidar and GPR a while ago, found structures underneath that pyramid-shaped hill. They're digging the Raven tunnel to eventually reach those structures underneath, from the side, the only legal way. Also at the top sits the ruin of a medieval fortress.
