Tenaha names Terry Ward as their HFC, Ward served as Tenaha's HC from 2009-2014 (state title in 2011) and from 2022-2023
Ward has been the Tenaha HS principal the past two seasons #txhsfb@dctf
For the state with the largest # of rural schools & students, TX doesn't lead with rural realities in mind. 🤦♀️
Exhibit A: 50+ (yes...FIFTY!) "To the Administrator Addressed" letters from @teainfo in the last 2 months alone. 😲

Did you know the computers grading your STAAR reading tests (ECR portion ) produce grades that are incorrectly lower for anywhere from 25-43 percent of the same students than when the tests are graded by a human being? (Based on a 2 district sample)
And did you know that schools get to pay (or have to pay) 50 additional dollars per kid to resubmit those tests to get accurate results. I am grateful we can resubmit, thank you TEA, but sad we have to pay for accuracy.
Yes, those same STAAR scores that determine your District and campus ratings, your TIA results, and your student’s confidence are artificially lower and will be improved if you can just find an extra 50 dollars per kid to have an actual human correct the software’s grading mistakes.
In 2024 Dallas ISD saw 43 percent of resubmitted scores go up and in 2025 our district saw 25 percent of scores go up. Our scores improved for 200+ students in grades 3-8!!
Think of all the students headed into remediation this year or the teachers being assigned extra PD (and missing TIA) simply because a software program graded the extended constructed response section incorrectly? Campuses could be pushed into hours of unnecessary work for being incorrectly labeled lower performing.
Did your district submit tests for rescore? If so what percentage increased?
Swinging by with a little education nugget for those who don’t know.
Have you ever wondered why, during election night coverage, you get to see state after state voting on issues such as cannabis legalization, reproductive rights and school voucher programs - but Texas citizens never get to directly vote on issues that affect them?
That is because Texas is one of a small handful of states whose State Constitution does not provide a pathway for a citizen led ballot initiative.
Texas citizens are 100% at the mercy of their elected representatives, and as has become GLARINGLY obvious during this legislative session, the GOP representatives are no longer working for their constituents.
Unless you show up with a check in hand, your voice is COMPLETELY ignored.
The time is now. We had 49% voter turnout in 2024. That is downright shameful in a state that gives their local government as much power as ours has.
This is going to take every single one of us. We HAVE to engage the disenfranchised voters and the apolitical people in our lives. There is entirely too much at stake at this point not to.
National politics are what they are. It is LOCAL politics that truly affect our lives. It is high time we start treating these things like they matter. Because they DO.
The fight starts NOW. Start talking, and don’t stop until we have a Texas Government that actually works for US again. In 2026, vote for the people who will vote for YOU.

TX has dropped from 36th in per-pupil spending in 2018 to a troubling 44th in 2024. Our students & teachers deserve better than being pawns in a game of financial & political maneuvering. We must raise our voices & fight harder than ever in the upcoming #txlege 89th Session! #txed
Heavy screen use might create a vicious cycle for young kids.
New data: the more time 3.5-year-olds spent on tablets, the more angry outbursts they had at age 4.5... and the more they used tablets at 5.5.
Digital soothing is not a substitute for teaching emotion regulation.
Why am I posting these ? Because the biggest PBMs don’t want any level of transparency. None. With a lack of transparency they can charge you or your employer any amount and no one knows if it’s valid within their contract or if it’s a fair price.
They are terrified of transparency. See below.
Fixing this doesn’t require legislation.
If every federal, state, NGO would publish their insurance company and PBM contract, it would become a fair and efficient market and the price of care and meds would DROP LIKE A ROCK
I’ve just finished reading @JonHaidt’s bestselling new book THE ANXIOUS GENERATION.
I think it may be the most important nonfiction book of the decade, and today I want to tell you why. 🧵
It is a lie that @GregAbbott_TX pushed public ed funding.
He did not.
He refused it.
We saw it all. So did R #txlege members who are calling out his lies.
The House sent a clean funding bill to the Senate.
Abbott & @DanPatrick attached a voucher.
They want to destroy #txed
