Ed Markey is one of the strongest progressive voices in the Senate. He has been an ally in taking on the billionaires as they try to take over every aspect of our lives and corrupt our government.
@EdMarkey knows which side he's on. I'm proud to endorse him for his reelection.
Two 2028 candidates lobbied against this DNC resolution condemning AIPAC. It failed.
Anyone who wants to lead this party must condemn and reject AIPAC money.
They should also pledge not to have a Super PAC in Democratic primaries.
I take no PAC money and have no Super PAC.

It is morally bankrupt for insiders to be making money off a war where American service members and Iranian civilians are being killed. This is the corruption that has so many of us angry. @ErinBurnett
Mayor Mamdani is right.
Families in New York City deserve free child care.
But it’s not just New York. Instead of giving tax breaks to billionaires, Congress must pass a universal child care bill to guarantee high-quality child care for every American family.
It’s not just Iran.
It’s Lebanon.
In less than 2 weeks, Israel has killed 570 people and displaced 750,000 — over 10% of the entire country. Residential buildings are being bombed with no warning.
The U.S. cannot continue to be complicit in Netanyahu’s wars.
This catastrophe did not come out of nowhere, and it didn’t even originate with Donald Trump. There has been a 50 year slide toward the militarization of foreign policy, the diminishment of focus and resources in the direction of diplomacy, to the point where serious peace-building efforts were considered quaint and unserious.
There’s no guarantee that America will get out of this mess without going through a serious reckoning, but we need to do more than brace ourselves for that. We need to think deeply about what all this means and how we got here, learn the lessons of our own history, and be prepared to rebuild this country on a more humble and just foundation when we have the chance.
I think where I differ from many media consumers is that I seek out content that doesn't just tell me what I already know or confirm my priors. I gravitate to media that forces me to learn new things & challenges my assumptions - and I increasingly try to do reporting that does that, which I realize pisses off the very loud & vocal please-just-confirm-my-priors crowd that's disproportionately represented in online comment threads etc.
I'm not making a judgment on what's better or worse here. But just on a really personal level, I'm genuinely bored with confirm-my-priors media even if it's more monetizeable, and I've gradually divested myself from it & am not interested in producing it. I'm more interested in exploring uncomfortable questions that I don't know the answers to (see the latest episode of our podcast Lever Time). My guess is a lot of people are silently doing the same.
When Israel kills women and children, silence from many of our elected leaders.
When they start a war, still silence.
But when they go after the oil economy, now that crosses the red line.
Thanks to Trump, right-wing multibillionaire Larry Ellison will now control the TikTok algorithm, along with:
CBS
MTV
The Free Press
BET
CMT
Simon & Schuster
Nickelodeon
Paramount+
Pluto TV
and more
This is what Oligarchy looks like.
The fight right now is twofold:
Defeat Trumpism in all its ugly forms.
Fight for a Democratic Party that stands with the working class of this country and is prepared to take on the oligarchs.
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital CEO pay: $26.3 million
Montefiore CEO pay: $16.7 million
Mount Sinai CEO pay: $5.4 million
Let’s be clear: These hospitals are not going broke. They can afford to provide their nurses with benefits and safe patient ratios.
Given the dysfunctional political environment, I’m proud we reached a health care deal that provides the largest increase in community health center funding in a decade, expands the health care workforce, lowers drug costs and strengthens vital cancer research for kids.
For Trump to put his name on the Kennedy Center and other federal buildings is not only arrogant and narcissistic, it is illegal.
We must put an end to sitting presidents naming buildings after themselves — and that’s what my bill does.
20 million Americans are seeing their premiums double, sometimes TRIPLE because of Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s refusal to extend ACA subsidies.
Our already broken health care system is now on the verge of collapse.
We need Medicare for All NOW.
I stand with Jerome Powell and an independent Fed.
Threatening criminal action against a Fed Chair because he refuses to do the President's bidding on interest rates undermines the rule of law which is the very foundation for American prosperity.
When I think of the bravery of the people protesting in Iran right now, I'm humbled and in awe. I pray for every one of them. May they be protected and blessed.... and successful in their mission.
Zohran defeated the Democratic establishment, the Republican establishment, the President and billionaire oligarchs in the biggest political upset in modern American history.
If New York can deliver real change for working people, the rest of the country will ask: Why not here?
