Sometimes it's not about being arrested, there are other ways to curb your speech. @HelleLyngSvends just experienced that today when she got attacked and trolled for her question.

In many years of foreign visits, this one question has been the single most powerful question a journalist could have asked. You have done much service to the cause of Press freedom in India @HelleLyngSvends. A democracy where the PM never answers to the press is not a democracy.

People might ask why can't @RahulGandhi file a case against Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar?

Read the Clause-16 of The Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Bill, 2023 which BJP passed after suspending 141 MPs in December 2023.

No court anywhere in India can take any case against Election Commissioners for any civil or criminal offense that they committed during their tenure till they die. They have taken themselves out of all laws of the land. Even President of India doesn't have such criminal immunity.

We had a Uniform Criminal Code till 2014. Now we don't have it. The party who talked about Uniform Civil code removed the Uniform Criminal Code we had since 1862.

Election Commissioners, including retired ones, are above all criminal laws of this country. Through them Modi, Shah and their henchmen are also above law.

People of India rejected them a few years ago. They are clinging on to power with fake votes. That's all.

Shiv Sena (UTB) candidate Amol Kirtikar, who'd lost the Mumbai North West PC by merely 48 votes, have been refused #EVM checking and verification on technical grounds by the #Electioncommission

EC has also refused to give CCTV footage of the counting day to Kirtikar. Although as per the Election Rules any candidate can demand for CCTV footage.

He is now planning to file an election petition in the Court.
