@HowlingMonkey2 I could not agree more. Inclusion is a conscious decision that we as educators make every day. However, I think it is a monumental difference between an efficient/ engaging class rather than a simplistic/memorization classroom. #OK2Ask
@educ_emwalk Here is my first smore https://t.co/2x9D8PzFb5
I really like this resource and my main use of it is to show those who will be investing in my classroom, about my goals and expectations. I also like to give a little information about my self for parents/ administration. #OK2Ask
@Katy_Garvey@Newsela@edpuzzle I really like both resources, however, I like the individuality and creativity that comes with edpuzzle. It is a great way to enhance already great materials. #OK2Ask
A10: I think that Nearpods are a great resource because it keeps everyone on track and shows the responses of each individual. It is also great because you can add supplemental material throughout the lesson. However, the pricing system is changing more each day. #OK2Ask
@HowlingMonkey2 I absolutely love Flipgrid. You make an excellent point. Flipgrids are also fun because students can show creative outlets by adding small images to their video or special effects. #OK2Ask
A9: I think symbaloos are a great resource to use for student accessibility. It puts the resources all in one place, that both students and parents can access. #OK2Ask
@Katy_Garvey This is a great point, I think starting out by sending one mtg is a great way to start! Even using poll date managing systems to see when everyone is available, is another great way to make space for these conversations. #OK2Ask
A8: Making the space for S's to give feedback on the activities and resources that you use can be beneficial in seeing what is truly engaging/ helping the S's and what is not. Even S's are educators in some way and I think that perspective is important to keep in mind. #OK2Ask
@Katy_Garvey Case managers was a perspective that I didn't even consider. But that is such a great point because they probably have great resources for communication that students and possibly teachers could use! Thanks for sharing. #OK2Ask
A7: I think reaching out to other teachers is a great way to learn about new resources, new or old educators. Student sometimes also have great ideas about ways to use technology in the classroom that will most benefit them. #OK2Ask
@educ_emwalk Trail and error is such a crucial skill in any level of education, because you students and classrooms are always changing. Reliability is an excellent point that I had not even considered! #OK2Ask
A6: I am a pre service teacher so I have been getting a lot of great resources. I also think it is important to consider the responsibilities of students outside your class. I try to base the "right" tool on students time and access. #OK2Ask
@educ_emwalk Independent monitoring is so important. I love this idea as a solution to over-dependence on assistive technology, especially in a classroom building on discussion, collaboration, or group work. #OK2Ask
@HowlingMonkey2 I have read this article and I 10/10 recommend it for all teachers! So glad you mentioned it, I had totally forgotten about it. #OK2Ask
A5: I think in foreign language class this can become a big issue because instead of learning the material, students rely on technology to get them through. Perhaps limiting what resources students can use to translate? #OK2Ask
@HowlingMonkey2 Wow, this sounds like the perfect resource for students who struggle focusing. I do service learning with a girl from China and she often struggles to focus when reading for this very reason. Thanks so much for sharing this resource. I can't wait to try it out! #OK2Ask
