Muzaffarabad's residents, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, have boycotted the election amid a strike, with protesters questioning how voting could proceed after unrest that has killed at least 80 people since June, according to local estimates. Al Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder reports.
Just confirmed from Islamabad: The @AJEnglish website https://t.co/hEKFp7y0jE has been restricted in Pakistan following its coverage of recent events in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Silencing independent media will not hide the truth.

This video is genuinely hurtful to watch. Khawaja Imran Nazir, the Provincial Minister for Primary & Secondary Healthcare Punjab, who is usually seen interacting politely with doctors, is seen publicly scolding the Medical Superintendent, the highest officer of the hospital, over the AC thermostat being set below 26°C.
What makes it worse is that it appears to have been recorded with a microphone and camera team and then uploaded to his official TikTok account. With due respect, this is not how a senior doctor should be treated.
Doctors deserve respect, even when mistakes are made or rules need to be enforced. When government officials publicly speak to doctors like this, it sends the wrong message and only adds to the growing culture of disrespect that doctors already face from patients and attendants.
I strongly condemn this behavior.

These two images highlight the unfortunate reality of medical education in Pakistan and the priorities of its regulators.
The first shows the PMDC President claiming credit for around 1,400 Pakistani medical students and graduates matching into U.S. residency programs. The second shows a significant decline in students applying for the MDCAT.
In any country, 1,400 highly trained graduates leaving for residency abroad would be seen as a serious brain drain. The focus should be on asking why so many young doctors want to leave Pakistan, not celebrating the number. Moreover, PMDC has played little, if any, direct role in helping these applicants. Many graduates have instead faced delays in degree issuance, credential verification, and limited access to VSLO electives. Organizations like APPNA have mentored and supported many of these applicants, yet that contribution was not acknowledged.
The second image is even more concerning. Fewer students choosing MBBS reflects deeper problems: declining quality of medical education, the rapid expansion of some private medical colleges without adequate standards, extremely high and inconsistent tuition fees, unpaid house jobs and training, and the exploitation of young doctors.
I sincerely hope PMDC shifts its focus toward improving medical education, creating better training and job opportunities, enforcing standards, and ensuring that no doctor is forced to work without pay. That would be a far greater achievement than claiming credit for a brain drain.
New WHO guidelines for CT Brain :
1) BA passed Assistant commissioner says
2) On patients' demand
3) Machine is there so just put everyone's head inside.
Special package from WHO: "Radiations will no longer be dangerous in pakistan because AC from burewala thinks so".
The raise of voice always matters a lot. Now main stream media is highlighting the misbehave of AC Burewala Jawad Hussain Malik. He has no authority to put mic on his coat and to ask his PA to record video insulting & humiliating a lady duty doctor publicly.
#WeCondemnACBurewala
This picture is a slap in the face of patient confidentiality, medical ethics, and respect for doctors who spend years studying and training to serve people.
Allegedly, a CSS officer (ACP Burewala) entered a hospital (THQ) with cameras and a mic attached to his clothes while patients were actively being treated, and then publicly insulted a female doctor while recording the entire scene.
Hospitals are not movie sets or political stages. Patients deserve privacy, and doctors deserve dignity and professional respect.
Then people ask why doctors are leaving Pakistan. This kind of humiliation, interference, and public shaming is exactly why.
Absolutely shameful.
