I’m a top .01% user of Atlas. I’m addicted to the sidebar chat and text input field popup. I’ve been using the new app for ~20 hours and am seeing glimpses of hope I can replicate my old workflows. I hope the team still build in-app browser capabilities with the goal of getting us out of browsers completely rather than competing with Chrome. Always happy to chat if you want to talk to a human user : )

@krishnanrohit Codex app became ChatGPT with a dropdown to switch between ChatGPT and Codex but none of you ChatGPT convos are in ChatGPT app, only browser but the new model is in the app and Codex presumably still CLI/IDE, app, and browser. It’s simple.

Just at the moment in the @OpenAI livestream before they showed the pelican on a pelican I thought, “I can’t wait to hear about all the breakthroughs in math and healthcare with OpenAI models”

But instead we got pelicans and a whole slide on goblins. I find it very out of touch and unserious.

@AnthropicAI is doing much better on this front.

I am the biggest fan of @OpenAI but I am growing disappointed with the sloppiness of new releases.

With the new superapp I have already

- lost all my previous ChatGPT desktop threads and folders (I can see them in the browser only)

- lost the record feature (did they kill it quietly or is it a bug or my user error)

- had icons appear for a few minutes then disappear (eg to collapse all threads under all projects at once)

- install .dmg was called chatgpt.dmg, yet when I opened it, was greeted with “Install Codex”

- dev docs are out of date - aren’t you an AI company? This should be solved by now

- had projects disappear from the sidebar while I am working in them and be unable to find any threads I was working on

I am giving my company a tutorial in codex tomorrow and I am embarrassed that things I was going to show aren’t working anymore.

Please do better.

The ChatGPT Atlas browser is really good and I will genuinely be devastated if it is discontinued. I am addicted to using the sidebar and popup on input fields. Please don’t abandon it @OpenAI
