Those of us in leadership are committed to the Revolution and our people. That commitment includes being willing to give our lives.

If the U.S. carried out aggression or tried to kidnap a president, there would be a fight. We would defend ourselves. If necessary, we would die. As our anthem says, dying for the homeland is to live.

But leadership in Cuba is not about one person. We have collective leadership, unity, and discipline. Removing one individual would not change anything. Others would take responsibility.
