we begin with seonghwa’s back, naked and vulnerable, as the camera approaches him through the perspective of a snake. snakes have, for much of history, been closely associated with the “grotesquely feminine” due to their shedding process being associated with the mystery of birth/rebirth. we see this in medusa, in eve’s original sin, in bai suzhen, etc. the entity bites him and we see its “venom” spread, black like ink, as if it’s literally being written into his skin

the mv reframes desire not as attraction to a woman, but as submission to the feminine as power.
it’s an instinctive pull - invasive, intoxicating, and dangerous - one that writes itself onto the body and reshapes identity.

in the end, transformation replaces resistance…

maybe im reading too much into it again but I love the 'fine line' between seonghwa & the female dancers which he boldy crosses over symbolzing how he's said multiple times that he believes clothing is genderless & how him embracing femininity resulted in inspiring individuality
