EXCLUSIVE: More than half of former Labour voters who intent to back a centre or leftwing party in the next general election have cited the government's record on Gaza as a reason for abandoning Labour, new polling shows.
The wonderful black, white and brown folk at @UFFCampaign march to Downing St every October.
As bereaved families of people who’ve lost their lives while in state or police custody, they hand deliver a letter to PM.
Today, I feel particular gratitude for their courageous work.
Disgraceful and deeply disturbing behaviour. When this kind of humiliation is carried out openly and proudly by Ben-Gvir, it forces the world to question what Palestinians are enduring behind closed doors.
Condemnation isnt enough. We need action. Sanctions now!

All weekend, we saw the anti-Muslim hatred on display around the “Unite the Kingdom” march, which sits alongside the constant framing from some politicians and some media outlets that constantly villafies all Muslims.
And then yesterday we awoke to the devastating shooting at the Islamic Center in San Diego.
This is what happens when hate is normalised and amplified for clicks and outrage. Words matter. Narratives matter. And Muslim communities are left dealing with the consequences. A mosque should never become a crime scene.
Standing with the victims, their families, and Muslim communities everywhere.
I am proud and humbled to have been selected as Labour’s candidate for Makerfield.
These proud working-class communities represent the very best values of our country and they deserve so much better. It would be my honour to work for them every day, if elected as their MP, to achieve that.
Many people here feel Westminster isn’t working for them and they are right. I am standing to change that and get the voice of these communities heard loud and clear.
I am glad that this by-election has finally put the places that make up the Makerfield constituency into the national spotlight. They have been neglected by national politics for too long. It is a good thing that all political parties are now on the hook to tell the voters here what they are going to do for them.
More than anything, people need life to be more affordable again. As Mayor, I have brought in changes which are helping, such as the £2 fare cap, free bus travel for our 16-18 year-olds and removing the 9.30am restriction from older and disabled people’s bus passes. But there is only so much I can do from Greater Manchester. If elected, I will have a relentless focus on reducing people’s everyday costs and bills and well as securing the investment these communities need.
I have been an elected representative in Greater Manchester for 25 years. Throughout that time, I have fought for the people of the North West of England on so many fronts. I am now ready to bring the whole weight of that experience to fighting for the communities of the Makerfield constituency and would be privileged to be given that opportunity.
The Intelligence and Security Committee is taking the extraordinary step of tabling a UQ in the Commons today amid concerns over redactions to the Lord Mandelson files
The ISC laid out serious concerns about the way the government has been conducting itself on Friday, effectively accusing it of censorship and putting national security at risk
It hasn't had a response - so is going directly to the Commons to try to force the government's hand. Jeremy Wright, the former AG, is expected to lead on the debate for the debate for the ISC when/ if it is granted
These are the issues at stake:
*** The ISC says that it is applying the 'personal information' criteria 'far too broadly' and without any scrutiny. 'We note that no body has been commissioned to review these redactions and assure Parliament they are within the spirit of the Humble Address'
*** It also accuses the Cabinet Office of withholding documents, including Mandelson's vetting file. While the ISC does not wish to see the vetting file - indeed it privately accepts that doing so would undermine the vetting system - it says the Government needs to return to Parliament and seek its agreement for withholding documents
*** The ISC says that the level of government business conducted on WhatsApp is 'extraordinary'. 'Lengthy Whatsapp conversations between senior officials and ministers appear now to be the format by which Government policy is formulated'
*** It says government departments - the FCDO in particular - are failing to keep proper records - agendas, minutes and records of conversations. 'This is unacceptable in government' *** Sensitive exchanges are being conducted on 'lower level' security systems, putting the UK's national security at risk. The ISC says it is 'appalling'
@afneil You need to get out of London, Andrew. You’ve clearly got no idea how much people here are struggling. And, yes, a lot of it can be traced back to Margaret Thatcher.
That’s me in the top left-hand corner. Friends and family send it to me when it randomly appears on their timeline. It’s just funny at this point.I want to gather each person in this meme to have a roundtable discussion about becoming a right wing talking point. Social media help
Under French colonial rule in Algeria, they used to put up posters saying: “Are you not beautiful? Unveil!” They even held unveiling ceremonies.
This obsession with Muslim women and what they wear isn’t new, the far right have just built on it.

We have to stop Reform.
Our lives, our communities, our future depends on it.
I’m not telling the next generation we fumbled the fight against actual fascism in 2026 because we couldn’t find a non-existent, perfect-for-everyone candidate.
