Tax-to-GDP ratio remains btn 13.7-14%, noting the urgent need to expand the productive tax base rather than overburden existing taxpayers. Increasing employ’t strengthens domestic revenue thru high household incomes, increased consumption & growth in indirect taxes #4ICPAUPFMConf

Mexico's President just made a life-changing decree, giving every Mexican universal health care.
Their goal is for everyone in Mexico to have access to healthcare if they need it, regardless of income, and it'll be fully rolled out by 2028.

Many schools are creating social media content featuring their pupils and students, mainly for marketing and visibility. While this trend continues to grow, here’s a simple piece of advice: ensure that students or their guardians sign media release forms that clearly grant permission to film and publish content online.
Not every parent is comfortable with their child being featured on social media, and some may take legal action against the school if proper consent has not been obtained. Be woke!

Congratulations to @SMChelangat, our outgoing Commissioner for Domestic Taxes, on your appointment as Partner at EY.
For nearly 4 years, you have served Uganda with distinction, mobilizing revenue that fuels our nation’s growth and journey to self-reliance. As you step into this new role, we are confident your expertise will continue to promote compliance, good governance, and economic progress.
May Numbers 6:24–26 be your portion: “The Lord bless you and keep you... the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”
The URA Family salutes you and wishes you continued success.
Together with my wife, I joined mourners from across the political divide at the burial of James Garuga Musinguzi in Kanungu District yesterday, where I represented H.E. @KagutaMuseveni. The President described Garuga’s death as a great loss to the nation, the people of Kanungu, and the business community. He noted that Garuga passed away at a time when the country needed him most.
The President praised Garuga as a man of hard work and humanitarian spirit, someone who set aside political affiliations to champion initiatives that benefited not only his community but the entire country. He commended Garuga’s investment in agriculture, which demonstrated his deep understanding and appreciation of the NRM mission of sustainability and self-reliance.
The President added that Garuga’s legacy will live forever in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
On a personal note, I shared how I first met Garuga in 2005 and he went ahead to be my guardian.
From the moment we met, he became a father figure to me and even supported me when I was getting married. He never asked for anything in return, only advising me to extend such generosity to others. When I later joined the NRM, he encouraged me to work for the people of my constituency and for the country, a commitment I continue to uphold.
One of the most important lessons we can learn from him is the value of establishing businesses that are purposeful and impactful. Garuga always sought to ensure that his enterprises served and employed ordinary people. We should emulate his example by ensuring our businesses benefit the everyday Ugandan.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
