The buzzard in Ireland was hunted to extinction in Ireland by the 1890s. It was incorrectly thought to threaten livestock. In the 1930s the buzzard naturally migrated from Scotland to Co Antrim and steadily began to establish themselves in the north.

My first experience of a seabird colony. Landing on Skellig Michael by helicopter on what was to be an inaugural tourism flight in the early 70s. I declined the first return flight to photograph more birds, but the door fell off, so we had to wait hours for a boat. OK with me🙂

@CarlBovisNature I don't even have anything against hunting when done with compassion and regard for nature and the animal you're harvesting. This org has a nasty reputation for attacking conservation. I know lads here in Ireland who don't like being associated with it.
