Hey, guess what. Same sex marriage has been legal longer than the Confederate States of America was around. So, I guess officially, the Rainbow ๐ flag represents our heritage better than the confederate battle flag.
@wehavethedata_ As an aside, this is awful formatting for โmyth bustingโ. By stating the myth prominently and providing the offending graph first, he has reinforced the myth for 90+% of casual readers.
The legend about my grandfather is that he was a steam locomotion mechanic (Southern Railroad). When they started switching to diesel in the 30s, he would bring home the manuals at night and taught himself to be a diesel mechanic.
@TommyApples80@CarlSparre@JessePeltan One of the podcasts I was listening to recently was talking about catenary charging except through tunnels. Only need enough battery power to go a couple of miles or so that way.
Helpful hint: there is a Follow All button. You donโt have to click each person individually. Although it was fun seeing how many people I know from here.
I'm told the other platform is ramping up again, so I created a starter pack for electric grid & power systems. This will remain my main venue for now but will start engaging more there!
@ramez @SnoozeButtonBen North Carolina: Photographing Voted Ballot Prohibited. โ No person shall photograph, videotape, or otherwise record the image of a voted official ballot for any purpose not otherwise permitted under law.
(Not sure for what purpose it would be legal?!?)
@KevinSKrause@PrinceMyschkin@JessePeltan I just ran a PVWatts simulation for Copper Harbor, MI, for one 600W bifacial module on a microinverter. 17.9% CF/940kWh. Iโm assuming if you only have a single module then you can take care to optimize the output. Unclear why we are quibbling over minutiae. The OP point remains.
@EverestBrady@JessePeltan 21 watts per square foot. 42% ground coverage ratio. That gives you about 384kW per acre. Throw in some extra for roads and inverters and you get about 3 acres per megawatt DC. We use a 1.3 DC/AC ratio so about 4 acres per MW ac.
@JessePeltan More interested in the N-type process that is more efficient and resists light induced degradation (LID) better than the P-type process (most common today). I guess โno silverโ is an added benefit.
@MathsPlusPlus@KidinaSandbox@EpiEllie Buddy of mine is a software engineer (PhD/MS in computer science, BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering). He distinguishes between software engineers and programmers.
@kareem_carr@network_pun Not exactly. There are only five ways to get a single electoral vote. Cf Maine(2) and Nebraska(3). Each state has a minimum of 3 EVs with ME and NE being the only two states that split their EVs. All the others are winner take all.
