Sat in AISA Camp for half-an-hour and grilled 4 commies alone, including 2 Muslims, and didn’t let them win in their attempts justifying their ‘Aazadi’ chants and support for Umar Khalid. I made them concede that their ‘Aazadi’ chant has a genocidal connotation attached to it, Khalid is not some revolutionary hero for this nation, and how ‘Jai Shree Ram’ isn’t the “fascist, political slogan” you paint it to be. Also, told them “AISA ko koi nahin puchta hai.”

All of this was done without bringing BJP, Modi, Hindutva, anti-national, or even raising my voice even once. They weren’t ready to give me an interview on camera and said only our senior leadership can talk to you, which didn’t come by the way.

Crazy context: 2 TISS Mumbai students have just been denied anticipatory bail in a case coming from a small campus gathering held in October 2025 to remember G.N. Saibaba. Among the allegations against them are that they raised slogans calling for the release of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam (which they deny) and that their mobiles had books by Mao, Lenin and other left-wing writers. Do you see what is so very wrong with this?

Mao/Lenin books are not banned in India. The court itself says just downloading them is not an offence. It even says that the accused "have not committed a criminal offence." But apparently having Mao and Lenin on your laptop, combined with allegations that you said "Free Umar and Sharjeel", can still make your conduct "suspicious enough" to deny you bail & protection from arrest.

So yes, perfectly legal books, and it's completely legal to read them. But they will still be used to build a false case against you. Might have to start putting "for academic purposes only, officer" on the first page of Mao
