Importantly:
•The root meaning is to shake off injustice or control
•It does not inherently mean violence
•It includes civil resistance, protests, strikes, boycotts, and community organising, alongside confrontations

At its core, intifada means people rising up to reclaim dignity, rights, and freedom.
