The Republic of Somaliland is an existing and independent country. Its geographic location has given it great importance. The world is changing rapidly. Soon, historic progress and positive transformation will become visible.
Many will move away from indirect or evasive criticism
Somaliland President @Abdirahmanirro is currently attending the 2026 World Governments Summit in #Dubai, where he is pursuing opportunities for international cooperation and investment, according to his office.
The event brings together more than 35 heads of state, delegations from over 150 countries, and upwards of 500 ministers, alongside representatives from global institutions and industry leaders.
His participation on par with other world leaders underscores Somaliland’s expanding diplomatic footprint and efforts toward greater recognition and partnerships.
This follows President Cirro’s recent engagement at the World Economic Forum in Davos, focused on advancing the nation’s economic and foreign policy objectives.
What implications could this have for Somaliland’s global standing?

Somaliland’s Recognition: The end of a dangerous ideology and the beginning of Regional Realism
The recognition of the Republic of by the State of Israel is an irreversible and historic reality. It marks the definitive end of the so-called ‘Greater Somalia’ project and the illusion of Somali unity; an ideology that for more than seventy-five years was built on ethnic absolutism, political delusion, and exclusionary nationalism.
The 'Greater Somalia’ project has been directly responsible for prolonged instability in the region, fragmentation, bloodshed, human suffering, and developmental stagnation affecting the peoples of the Horn of Africa, particularly communities of Somali origin.
Somaliland’s recognition represents not only the correction of a historical injustice, but also a pragmatic realignment with contemporary geopolitical realities, prioritizing peace and stability, self-determination, and constructive regional engagement over failed ideologies of the past.
To put it in a nutshell, the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland is an irreversible turning point and the end of a dangerous fantasy project: "Somali-Weyn”!!
📅 February 5: Ghulja Massacre Remembrance Day
🚨On February 5, 1997, Chinese occupation forces violently suppressed a peaceful protest by Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in Ghulja, East Turkistan. The demonstrators were protesting executions, repression, and China’s colonial occupation of their homeland. In what became known as the #GhuljaMassacre, hundreds were killed, and thousands were arrested.
‼️February 5, 2026, marks the 29th anniversary of the Ghulja Massacre.
🚨The atrocities committed in Ghulja were an early warning of what would follow. China’s genocide in Occupied East Turkistan began in May 2014 and is now entering its 12th year.
‼️Despite growing international recognition—including genocide determinations by governments and findings of crimes against humanity by the @UNHumanRights—the genocide continues.
‼️This is because its root cause—China’s illegal occupation and colonization of East Turkistan—has never been addressed with the level of international action required to end it.
📣 Join us to demand justice:
1⃣ Official recognition of East Turkistan as an Occupied Country
2⃣ Real Accountability for China’s genocide and crimes against humanity
3⃣ Support for decolonization, national self-determination, and the restoration of East Turkistan’s independence
