Officer tells a man peacefully filming in public: your presence “might” wind someone up, so we can arrest you to prevent a breach of the peace.

Not for breaking any law. Not for doing anything wrong... Just in case someone might get angry.

The state is protecting the feelings of potential thugs while harassing citizens exercising basic rights. Infuriating!

So @Heritage was handing out packs of educational flash cards of the “American Founders” at their America 250 Mt Vernon event last night. According to Heritage Foundation, Mercy Otis Warren was a founder. As someone who is endlessly loves to talk about the Founders and has studied them significantly, I was quite surprised at this I have never once before heard of her let alone as a founder.

So, you might ask, who was Mercy Otis Warren? Did she sign the Declaration of Independence? Did she serve in the Continental Congress? Did she attend the Constitutional Convention? What did she do that warrants her being held as a founder?

Well it turns out, what she did was write a pamphlet and some poetry during the constitutional debates. And it was a bit popular at the time, to her credit. But in terms of popular writers of pamphlets and poetry, there were quite literally thousands of these at the time, most of whom have been totally forgotten.

But apparently, Mercy Otis Warren warrants being in the top 16 founders. I, personally, would have a very hard time myself narrowing the founding fathers down to a top 16. And that brings up another point.

It’s the Founding FATHERS. You literally changed it to “American Founders” cutting out the paternalism inherent to this, literally rendering what has been well understood as an honorific for the great men our nation into something gender neutral, giving out not only a participation trophy for being a woman but also taking away a slot from a man who deserved it specifically just so you could add a token woman and pretend writing a pamphlet made her the equal in Americas founding to men like Jefferson, Hamilton, Washington, Hancock, Henry, Lee, Franklin, both the Adams, Jay, Madison, Chase, Mason, Livingston, Sherman, and Randolph.

There you go, there’s your 16. And there’s plenty of people who know nothing about many of these men I listed or even know who they are. And you instead decided against several of them to include a woman who wrote a pamphlet specifically because she was a woman whose husband James Warren is far more deserving of the title of “founder.”

You know what we call that when someone decides deliberately to include a woman who does not deserve it only because she is a woman and takes a spot away from a man who does? We call that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Can you please remove DEI from all future programs you put out, Heritage?

During his interviews with police, Vang tried to justify his actions by saying “it is a cultural thing…to marry and have sex with girls as young as 12.”
