These evictions are being facilitated by court rulings under a discriminatory 1970 law that allows Jewish settler organizations to claim pre-1948 properties while denying similar rights to Palestinians.

According to B’Tselem, 33 families have already been forcibly removed from their homes in the Baten al-Hawa area, with another 53 families currently at risk. Simultaneously, mass demolitions in the nearby al-Bustan district target an additional 1,450 people to make way for settler-run archaeological parks.
