We are looking for talented and aspirant leaders from a range of diverse backgrounds to take part within our Board Development Delegate – which is now in its third cohort.
As an aspiring senior leader, our programme will help you to gain practical hands-on experience, knowledge, and insight into what it takes to be an Executive and Non-Executive director within a large and complex organisation such as ours.
Upon completion, it is our hope that this programme will support your progress towards future voluntary or substantive posts in the public, private and voluntary sectors (including school and college governor roles).
A voluntary developmental role to undertake alongside your normal work duties, successful delegates will be given access to other support and learning opportunities.
The relationship will be reciprocal, with your experiences and insights helping to broaden the understanding of our Board-level leaders as to the challenges our communities face, and how we can provide more opportunities for seldom-heard groups.
What our programme can offer you:
🔵 A comprehensive induction programme, covering the roles and responsibilities of Board members, an overview of corporate governance, meeting with senior leaders and bespoke learning and development sessions.
🔵 Practical hands-on experience of how a Board functions; knowledge, development and insight to support you in future applications for senior roles.
🔵 Access to a coach through the Leadership Academy.
One-to-ones with the Chair of the Board and further support and facilitation of to facilitate two-way learning.
🔵 Support and guidance in preparing a CV and supporting statements to apply for Executive and Non-Executive Director roles.
To be successful and maximise the opportunities of this programme, you will be aspiring to work at a director-level post within two years of completing the programme. We are also actively seeking candidates from all backgrounds and representing all protected characteristics.
