Regional business partnerships are creating new opportunities to grow Zimbabwe's agro-processing sector, expand exports and strengthen regional value chains.
Today we visited Ecovado, a Limpopo-based agro-processing company transforming avocados 🥑🥑🥑 into a diverse range of value-added products, including avocado oil, beverages, cosmetics and wellness products.
The visit highlighted opportunities for Zimbabwean and South African businesses to collaborate in agro-processing, manufacturing, packaging and distribution, strengthening regional value chains while unlocking new export and investment opportunities for Zimbabwe.
Strong collaboration with neighbouring markets will help accelerate industrialisation, create jobs and position Zimbabwean businesses for sustained growth.
Our engagement with Kango today reinforced ongoing collaboration with key players in Zimbabwe’s manufacturing sector.
From production insights to export ambitions, the focus remains on building competitiveness, refining capability, and unlocking new opportunities for Zimbabwean products in regional and international markets.
From production floor to finished product, our visit to Carousel Bulawayo factory offered a firsthand look at the operations behind one of Zimbabwe’s leading clothing and textile manufacturers.
With ongoing operational improvements and a clear focus on export readiness, the company is positioning itself for re-entry into international markets. A a promising development for #MadeInZimbabwe clothing.
A shared border is only the beginning!
Today, we signed an MoU with the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA) to strengthen the Zimbabwe–Limpopo corridor as a gateway for trade, market access and business growth.
Through this partnership, we will promote strategic market linkages between Zimbabwean and Limpopo businesses, while advancing joint capacity-building initiatives that enhance competitiveness and unlock new trade opportunities.
This is about turning proximity into prosperity and driving shared economic growth between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
We are in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the 2026 edition of DRC Mining Week, running from Wednesday to Friday, leading a delegation of Zimbabwean companies to explore new mining export opportunities, partnerships and investment linkages.
As Africa's most influential mining platform, DRC Mining Week brings together over 300 international exhibitors, government officials, investors, financial institutions and mining operators shaping the future of the continent's mining sector.
Speaking at the event, our Market Analyst, Lorraine Muzadzi, highlighted that the platform presents an ideal opportunity to advance Zimbabwe's industrialisation agenda while unlocking export growth and increased earnings for local businesses.
DRC Mining Week is officially underway, and Zimbabwean exhibitors are already making a strong impression. Interest at the pavilion has been encouraging, with companies receiving numerous business inquiries and engaging with potential partners from across the region.

From traditional production methods to modern processing facilities. We had a rewarding second week of the PUM Technical Assistance Program for the beverage sector, working with Midlands State University and indigenous baobab beverage producers.
The experience highlighted the value of bridging heritage, science, and innovation to unlock the full potential of Zimbabwe’s indigenous heritage products for export.

Strengthening Zimbabwe-Namibia Trade Ties 🇿🇼🇳🇦
We were pleased to host the Namibian Ambassador, H.E. David Thomas, to discuss new initiatives aimed at boosting bilateral trade.
While current trade volumes have significant room for growth, #ZimTrade is actively unlocking new export opportunities in the Namibian market, specifically targeting leather and horticultural sectors as well as creating avenues that make sure local products can enter this market competitively.
We are committed to fostering partnerships that translate these opportunities into tangible results for our exporters.

When partnerships yield tangible results!
We were excited to visit Mutoko Horticulture Cluster as well as the WESRP Peas Pilot, being run by Nyahunure Community Organization (@nyahunure)
ZimTrade, along with the @NLinZimbabwe, @CAID_Zimbabwe, and @kumindafresh, is spearheading export-ready pea production, supplying inputs, developing clusters, and allowing smallholder farmers to create sustainable livelihoods through exports.
Just three weeks after planting, all groups exhibited a healthy, uniform crop stand, excellent field management practices, and well-maintained production sites. More importantly, the farmers proudly shared how they are working collectively to make the pilot a success, with women taking a leading role in production while being actively supported by men, demonstrating the power of inclusive and community-driven agricultural development.
