Background:
Road traffic crashes remain a leading cause of injury and death globally, with the burden disproportionately affecting low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), including Nigeria.
In alignment with the U.S. Government's commitment to staff and community safety, the U.S. Embassy Abuja is hosting a one-day workshop to raise awareness and build capacity around road safety among its staff, drivers, and American Corner/library users.
The workshop brings together high-level experts and public sector leaders for an informative session that highlights the global and local road safety challenges and explores practical, evidence-based solutions.
We visited the Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS), Mabushi, Abuja to advocate for safer streets, promote walking and cycling, and push for the implementation of 30km/h speed limits around schools and high-risk areas. We shared key findings from our Mobility Snapshot...👇
