.@RishiSunak was like the Wizarrd of Oz today - just said as much on @SkyPoliticsHub with @SophyRidgeSky & @JustineGreening (who talks a lot of sense).
My overwhelming impression is that nothing really happened today - the pushing back of the fossil fuel car ban will undermine confidence in the UK, but won’t slow down the transition to electric cars - because the industry are on it. This was really just a pose. The gas boiler thing was totally something and nothing. And the rest was all made up - there was no policy to have seven bins, tax meat or flying.
In classic Sunak style, he denied he was doing exactly what he was - making a short term political move at the expense of the long term. Fortunately he doesn’t have a long term in No.10.
But seeking to polarise public opinion around a false narrative (we can only have green or cheap) to give himself some toehold in the election, that’s beyond contempt.
@john_oes - I picked up your details from Greg Jackson. I'm after solar panels in Oxford in March, we will have scaffolding up already for loft conversion. Can you help?!
Do you think Johnson statement tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? If so press LIKE. If on the other hand you think it is the deluded self-serving bullshit of a disgraced lying lawbreaker press RETWEET
@TimMLatimer Orsted. They successfully pivoted from fossil fuels to do what is needed most: large amounts of renewable electricity. And, critically, have shown it is profitable and good business.
Priti Patel has just accepted a £100,000 donation from one of the world’s leading oil traders.
She has also opposed using a windfall tax on oil companies’ profits to slash energy bills.
We need to kick big money and fossil fuel industry lobbyists out of our politics.
Genuinely don't understand the Prime Minister comparing Ukrainian battle for national survival to Brexit. This is an extraordinary moment of national unity in support of Ukraine. Why needlessly reintroduce division?
Seems that farmland will no longer qualify for agricultural property relief if under Environmental Land Management Scheme. Means inheritance tax will be paid on conservation schemes (including buildings if insufficient area farmed). Is this going to reduce large-scale uptake?
@AlexSteffen It is the massive SUVs at nursery pick up time that give me (bike) rage. I don't understand the lack of awareness.. or lack of care..?
But, I have been too chicken to say/do anything...is there any value or indeed licence to do so?
Always cool to remember that not only have we seen the fundamentals of the planetary crisis for at least five decades, but some of the policies/solutions we're still pursuing NOW were developed years before the first episode of (the original) Miami Vice aired.

In other news... While the huge fuss about Megan & Harry plays out, John Kerry, Biden’s climate envoy, has been in London warning about the cataclysm facing every single one of us in the near future. He’s scarcely had a look-in.
Nothing from Sunak on household emissions. Nothing on aviation fuel tax. Nothing on electric car incentives. Nothing on or charge point roll-out. Nothing on household insulation - but a freeze on petrol/diesel duty in a climate emergency. Green revolution? Building back better?
We're excited to announce we have been awarded Gold in this year's @FinancialTimes Leading Management Consultants ratings. This means we're in the Top 4 for sustainability, with the big names (well done @AccentureUK, @DeloitteUK and @kpmguk!). More here: https://t.co/DKxmJdGBe0

We are devastated that a COVID hoax conspiracy is gaining prominence. These pictures of ambulances queuing outside of hospitals are very very real. NHS staff need our support more than ever. If you stand with them please RT 💙
