The largest petrochemical centre in Europe was in Teesside with international investors and operators.
All of the UK petrochemical companies were there too. Private businesses.
They didn’t require subsidies, but paid for power and steel and other commodities at market rates, accounting for 100,000+ quality UK jobs across the supply chain and playing a major part in UK exports.
Anything associated with the “North” of England, never mind the IMF restrictions, which funds were propping up underperforming nationalised industries like British Steel, were “tarred with the same brush” as mining and the “War on the Unions”.
The vast majority of British heavy industry was dismantled by the 1990’s.
Communities and countries become less vibrant when there are no jobs for skilled craftsmen to do, processing local, natural resources. What Lady Thatcher did was deeply shortsighted.
Blair however, with very different intentions to Lady Thatcher, saw an opportunity to tie the UK forever to the scrofulous international institutions, undermining UK sovereignty at every step, leading us into this terminal downward spiral of lowest common denominator thinking resulting in a miasma of mediocrity.
If the UK doesn’t reindustrialise and reclaim its sovereignty both externally and internally economically it will be finished in the early 2030’s and culturally by the early 2040’s.
LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT…
THE GOP ARE OUT THERE:
>BLOCKING RECESS APPOINTMENTS
>TAKING LONG VACATIONS
>NOT VOTING ON DOGE CUTS
>TRYING TO PASS AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS
>…ACTIVELY VOTING AGAINST THE SAVE ACT?!!!
IS THIS THE “MAJOR REFORM” THE AMERICAN PEOPLE VOTED FOR?!!!
With the demise of the IPCC's extreme RCP8.5 climate scenario, any remaining reason to pursue Net Zero has vanished – and even Tony Blair has started to notice, says meteorologist Andrew Sibley. https://t.co/xh1CXKYT7z
Hawaii state officials stole around $12M from you. The money was supposed to be used to prosecute fraudsters, but they didn’t indict a single person in 4 years. The Trump Administration will not sit back and do nothing when states waste your tax-dollars. Other states should take note. More coming soon.
"Steve Hilton won counties that have not voted for a Republican winner in many elections, including Napa County and Sacramento County. Hilton has also carried the populated areas of San Diego County, Fresno County and Orange County."
Until about 1950, mutton was the meat of Britain. Lamb was for special occasions. Mutton was the everyday meat: sheep slaughtered at three or four years old, with deep red flesh and intense flavour, fed entirely on hill grass.
A mutton chop with caper sauce was Tuesday's dinner.
Then the trade chased lamb instead, because lamb is tender, forgiving, and finishes in months rather than years. Mutton vanished from the supermarkets and the national palate with it. By 1975, asking a butcher for a mutton chop earned you a blank look. We swapped a deep, grass-fed, four-year-old flavour for soft pink uniformity and forgot the better meat had ever existed.
King Charles, then Prince of Wales, launched a Mutton Renaissance Campaign in 2004 to drag it back. It is winning slowly, against a country that no longer remembers what it lost.
The recipe:
- 4 mutton chops, on the bone, about 2cm thick.
- Salt. Black pepper.
- 2 tablespoons beef dripping or lamb fat.
For the caper sauce:
- 30g butter.
- 2 tablespoons plain flour.
- 500ml mutton or lamb stock.
- 3 tablespoons capers, drained.
- 1 tablespoon caper brine.
- A squeeze of lemon.
- Salt, pepper, a handful of parsley.
Season the chops well, rest at room temperature 30 minutes. Heat the dripping smoking hot in a heavy pan. Sear the chops two minutes a side, then turn down and cook 4 more minutes a side. Rest on a warm plate.
For the sauce: melt butter, stir in flour, cook 2 minutes. Slowly whisk in the stock. Simmer until thick. Add capers, brine, lemon, parsley.
Pour over the chops.
You will spend the rest of the week wondering why nobody told you what mutton tastes like.
How are Democrats cheating in L.A.?
Let me show you…
There are 26 registered voters at this toilet in Los Angeles.
I’m not kidding. I have the voter records. See for yourself. The only thing here is a stinky port-a john inside an empty parking lot.
No homes. No mailboxes. No businesses. Yet TWENTY SIX ‘people’ are casting ballots here.
Straight-up voter fraud out in the open. This just a glimpse of what’s happening under Gavin Newsom.
This is why California desperately needs Voter ID — and we must pass the Save Act NOW.
Republicans have the power to set a particular date as Election Day going forward. They have the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. Common sense Voter ID and a mandatory Election Day would be the end of the Democrat Party.
Why won’t they do it?
🚨 JUST IN: NITHYA RAMAN SURGES IN LATE MAIL BALLOTS, overperforms and is on track to unseat Spencer Pratt for 2nd place unless something changes
This is unreal...
Raman just NETTED +4,000 VOTES on Pratt across one drop, winning 33.5% of the latest LA mail, per VoteHub
🔵 Bass: 11,748 (36.9%)
🔵 Raman: 10,664 (33.5%)
🔴 Pratt: 6,433 (20.2%)
Nearly 300,000 VOTES REMAIN. Raman must only make up nearly 33K ballots now
I think we see where this is going.
California needs to be banned from doing this.
🚨 NOW: It's officially been nearly 48 HOURS since California poll close and NEARLY 4 MILLION VOTES (42%) are left to count
STEVE HILTON EXPOSED IT: "A whistleblower told me they had different buckets for ballots after election day, and were TOLD it DOESN'T have to be postmarked on or before election day — if the date was HANDWRITTEN that would be OK as well!" 🤯
THIS IS OUTRIGHT FRAUD, and it's been LEGALIZED
Shut it down!
Ed Miliband has signed the UK up to a legally binding 87% CO2 emissions cut by 2040. Paul Homewood says this can only be achieved by the devastation of industry and sharp cuts in the standard of living. Read his article in the Climate Skeptic. https://t.co/bGOg3zigaP
