Firefighters rescued a man from a flat fire on the #IsleofDogs. A woman was also led to safety by crews.

The fire is believed to have been caused by cooking - never leave cooking unattended and turn off the hob if you're leaving the room

A guard of honour for birthday boy Ernie Cock who reached the ripe old age of 100. Ernie joined the National Fire Service in 1946 and then transferred to Brigade. He served the majority of his career at #Poplar fire station. Once a firefighter, always a firefighter.
