Day 2 training for women district councillors on effective legislative engagement is underway. The training is strengthening their capacity to use their leadership roles to promote accountable governance, gender-responsive policymaking, and inclusive legislative processes.
We acknowledge that women leaders with the right skill set & access to essential information are better positioned to legislate effectively & guide policy decisions that reflect the priorities of women and girls, and this is why investing in their leadership development remains critical.

Through our leadership training programs, we aim to increase women’s participation & representation in political processes as part of our broader efforts to build a powerful movement of women with conviction, voice & influence to advance gender equality & social justice. #WomenAndLeadership
We @FOWODE_UGANDA are excited!!
Today, we signed off a grant for our Women’s Amplified Voice for Accountability project that will be implemented in the Karamoja region with our partners Nakere Rural Women Activists (NARWOA) and Hope for Karamoja Children Foundation (HCF). We thank the @DKinUganda for the support & look forward to making our contribution in the region.
We are excited to share an initiative by @femmetalk_WN@PeshPoni and @nancyayot, providing young girls in Koboko, Yumbe & Obongi districts with menstrual hygiene kits. Let’s show solidarity & support this cause! For details or to donate, please check out the flyer.
Through mentorship sessions & training on effective legislative engagement, we have strengthened women’s caucuses to jointly propose motions aimed at advancing gender equality and advocate for gender-responsive proposals to be included in policies, plans, and budgets. #FOWODEAT30
The women legislators we have trained continue to demonstrate increased ability to effectively advocate for women's specific issues at all levels. We have also witnessed a growing articulation of gender-specific issues in councils, contributing to gender-sensitive policymaking.
This year is special, and big things are in the works! As we mark 30 years of empowering women and championing gender equality, we are cooking up something extraordinary. Brace yourselves for what’s coming! #FOWODEAT30
