If by the end of 2021 the YOY CPI is up by 5% (meaning actual consumer prices rose by much more) the Fed will need to raise the Fed Funds rate to at least 7% to try to bring the official rate back down to 2%. We get a financial crisis if it does or a dollar crises if it doesn't.

During an interview Jim Richards and I disagreed on the definition of inflation. I said the original definition was an expansion of the supply of money and credit, while Jim said the definition has always been rising prices. An older edition of Webster's dictionary backs me up.

Global business aviation activity is trending 55% below normal so far in May. Moving 7 day average daily activity is up 35% between 1st and 19th May, but still down 40% vs start of March. Bizav has doubled its share of all aviation activity (blue, RH axis).

Plunging used car prices spells doom for future new car sales, due to competition and lack of trade in value. Also, lower residual values on leased and repoed cars means massive losses for GM and Ford's finance divisions. Will the Fed buy used cars? The problem will be parking.
