ERITREA: THE WORLD MUST NOT LOOK AWAY
Eritrea is often described as the “North Korea of Africa.” For years, the UN and international human-rights organizations have documented severe repression, arbitrary detention, indefinite national service, and the denial of basic freedoms.
If Trump Admin removes Eritrea sanctions I predict US will be disappointed. Isaias isn't going to allow any opening since that would bring his prison-country under the microscope. He is happy being an absolute dictator despite the suffering of his people.

Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Outlines Strategic Vision for Regional Peace and Integration, Focused on Ethiopia-Eritrea Relations – HORN REVIEW https://t.co/nNApNeRz6X
Solid analysis in @africareport by @JulianPecquet on current US/Eritrea dynamics with recent historical background. Big questions: does Isaias really want to reset relations; can he be less of a dictator; or is he just worried about opposition groups?

🚨 Urgent Appeal 🚨
The Ethiopian government is conducting roundups and detaining Eritrean refugees. While every country has the right to safeguard its security, it is a grave violation of refugee rights to deport Eritreans back to Eritrea, where they face persecution!!
S. Res. 350 is a Senate resolution introduced on July 31, 2025, during the 119th U.S. Congress. It deals explicitly with widespread, long-standing human rights abuses in Eritrea, and expresses support for the rights and freedom of the Eritrean people.
If the PFDJ truly desires peace, it must first make peace with the Eritrean people. Thousands of Eritreans remain in detention for decades without trial. Eritrea is a country without a constitution, without a national assembly, and without the rule of law.
There have been tragic incidents involving Migrants(Many Eritreans )attempting to cross from Libya to Italy in recent weeks.
Libya to Italy—remains one of the most perilous migration paths.
Credible reports indicate that the Eritrean regime has infiltrated European immigration systems by placing loyal interpreters and informants within asylum services. https://t.co/nnsZMdVqcZ
@gdrarr@FikreJesus It’s honestly frustrating to see people twisting the reality of Eritrea without actually understanding the full picture. Every country has its challenges, but spreading half-truths or ignoring the positive strides being made isn’t helping anyone.
