@GuildofBG Bomber County day in Lincolnshire 13 June attended by 16 members. RAF Metheringham, Coningsby churchyard and Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre guided by @SimonSfb22, Andy Johnson and Chris Finn. Expertise delivered with enthusiasm and audience engaged throughout
@Kormin_@SeaSpitfires Typically the time of high or low tide on any particular day will be about 50 minutes later than the day before. That’s pretty standard in most places.
@TCaptain2022@britishmemorial Or what about Maj Lennox-Boyd, OC of the Pathfinders who fell to his death from an aircraft on the run in to the DZ. They were due to drop at 0016. He’s buried in Ranville.
@TCaptain2022@britishmemorial Agreed. That’s what Mark Worthington the curator at the Memorial Pegasus thinks. Everett’s date of death is wrong on the Normandy Memorial.
Just finished a great few days running the @GuildofBG recce to Normandy. 3 days and no beaches. Op EPSOM, GOODWOOD, TOTALISE and BLUECOAT. Thanks to all who helped.
Latest successful battlefield recce for members of the Guild of Battlefield Guides was to Normandy. Very useful CPD for our members. Thanks to all who attended and to those who ran the recce
Today we spent looking at Operation Bluecoat, we visited many locations which all have excellent memorials such as this one. The 11th Armoured Division memorial just north of Le Bas Perrier. Have been in Normandy for 4 days now, back home tomorrow and haven't seen any beaches.
An amazing day at the Normandy @GuildofBG Recce looking at particularly Operations Epsom and Goodwood. You cannot beat walking the ground as today's 'Stands' have been brought vividly to life by some Amazing Battlefield Guides. Many thanks to everyone who has made it possible.
