@easyJet Thanks, but doesn't make sense. We were flying to, not from, Gatwick. One of the reasons I'm annoyed is that check-in staff may well have known that our bags wouldn't be loaded into the flight when we checked in at Alicante. I even paid 40 euros at check-in for an extra bag.
@easyJet@Gatwick_Airport I can understand *leaving* Gatwick without luggage, because of the baggage handling fault, but not why *incoming* flights would...?
@xkatrina7291x Uh-huh. End credits say they're doing better. I hope they are. Who really knows? Or the future kids whose parents decide to train them like dogs after seeing this programme. But not like the dog trainer in the programme but like most people actually train dogs with conditioning.
@Drew_Mac@NatSecSoc I'm also reminded of one of my local church schools' admission policies, which give first preference to Christians, then Jews, Hindus, Muslims, etc., and lastly the non-religious at the back of the queue. It is one of the most revealing examples of intolerance that I've seen
@Drew_Mac@NatSecSoc I think the bad feeling expressed by secularists is due some resentment for the very great privileges enjoyed by religious groups, particularly Christians in the UK. Some are anti-religious, but that's alongside being socially secular, and with a respect for individual belief.
@Drew_Mac@NatSecSoc How can it make any sense to have a pluralist approach based around a central, singlar religious ethos? It only makes sense to have a purely Christian school, for Christians only, or to have secular schools open to everyone. Secularism is synonymous with pluralism.
@Drew_Mac@NatSecSoc Then wouldn't the most inclusive thing be to take pupils from any religious background and not impose a single religious ethos onto them? In other words, operate like community (non-faith) schools..
Interesting debate at #LumiereConference about belief. Would have been good to have a non-religious panel member though. Frustrating conflation of 'beleif' and 'faith'. Faith is belief in the absence of (or despite) evidence.
'Faith' can simply mean optimism and confidence that your hoped outcome will transpire in the future. Its other meaning is belief in a god. 'Secularism' is simply the removal of religious privilege, allowing all religions equal status. #LumiereConference
