China laying bare the brutal facts:
Donald Trump:
"It is costing us $2 billion a day to reopen the Strait of Hormuz"
China's Foreign Minister:
"The Strait was open before the war. The root of the problem lies in your illegal operations against Iran; you created a global crisis out of nothing"
Under the @AlboMP Government, Australia has gone from 14th to 2nd in a global ranking of budget management. We know a stronger budget is not an end in itself but the foundation on which we build everything we want to do for our people and our society #auspol#ausecon@SenKatyG
2 polls released tonight show Labors 2PP vote higher than the last election. I’m guessing the Hanson supporters are curled up tight in a corner along with Angus and Jane. Hastie meanwhile is in his shed sharpening the knives.
@T_upnation@PSyvret The land tax Gina is trying to avoid is only levied on foreign owners of Australian land.
If you believe in Australia First, you should support Australia First policies like making foreigners who buy Australian land pay more than Aussies are required to do.
@AngusTaylorMP Tax cuts for wage earners from July 1 is not "more taxes", especially when fully funded by removing a few tax exemptions. Wage earners would call it more reward for hard work, not less.
Four years ago, Labor made a long list of promises.
Since then:
✅ Inflation down from 6.1% to 2.3%
✅ Two budget surpluses in a row
✅ Unemployment below 4%
✅ Wage growth at 3.5%
✅ Interest rates falling
✅ Tax cuts for every Australian taxpayer
✅ $177 billion of Coalition debt paid down
✅ National Anti-Corruption Commission established
✅ Cheaper medicines
✅ Cheaper childcare
✅ Free TAFE made permanent
✅ Paid domestic violence leave introduced
✅ Student debt reduced
✅ Bulk billing tripled
✅ Wage theft criminalised
✅ Super on paid parental leave
✅ Help to Buy for first-home buyers
✅ Future Made in Australia manufacturing investment
✅ 43% emissions reduction target legislated
You don’t have to agree with every policy, but the claim that Labor has “done nothing” simply doesn’t survive contact with reality.
They made promises. They delivered on them.

I’d argue that the ABC’s Melissa Clarke is now the most outstanding political commentator in Canberra. She is confident, articulate, insightful and balanced. Her contribution today on
#insiders was impressive.
