@dresserman He's commenting how cheap they are, isn't he. I find French supermarket fruit and veg very expensive compared to hope. Better variety and quality though
@2hrTV It's more than just that. He has built a persona around various achievements after a disadvantaged start to life, becoming a beacon for progressives. Much of that is proving to be untrue
@KonstantinKisin Also, billionaires don't just become billionaires out of the blue. They do so by making goods and services that are popular. Bezos is only that rich because people really, really like Amazon.
@dresserman French supermarket produce is far better than ours - they care about food, the British don't. However, the pricing is far higher - fruit and veg can be double what we pay. Bananas in Tesco £0.90 / kg. The photo you had a few days ago had them at €1.99 / kg
@randomdorman@Sam_Dumitriu Won't help. But we don't have a pre booking system in the council where I live and there is still a big problem, so it can't only be that
@dresserman There is VAT and Fuel Duty on fuel. When ex-tax fuel prices rise, VAT income rises - so the current oil price means that the tax man is already up, and the decision to increase the duty is entirely a political choice
@BMM1882 @dresserman It's almost as if they keep the counter that makes money and get rid of the ones that don't.
The reason that there isn't any butchers or fish counters in store is that people don't shop that way anymore
@BDSixsmith Not to mention the numb-skulled naivety of the implicit belief that 16/17 year olds are sitting round drinking alcohol free drinks waiting until they are 18, and only then going out and getting hammered
@dresserman Will this mean they get rid of, or at least pare back, the wretched Nectar pricing - which at times passes beyond punative and into being spiteful
