Honestly, ​I always thought the Alligator's side-mounted Shipunov 2A42 was completely fixed. It’s not! It's actually fitted with hydraulic actuators that pivot the gun +3.5° to -37° in elevation and +30° to -2° in azimuth. Placing it right near the center of mass dramatically cuts down on recoil shake compared to traditional chin turrets - making those 30 mm rounds terrifyingly accurate out to 4 km.
