When we were preparing to go to Iraq in 2005 we had an Iraqi who had fled Iraq, and ended up in the employ of the CIA briefing us on culture, and Ramadan came up.

One of the senior officers in the auditorium spoke up quickly, and started to say we should not drink, eat, or smoke in front of Iraqis during Ramadan, to respect their culture.

This CIA dude immediately locks eyes with this officer and asks very loudly

The officer was a little caught off guard, and before he could answer the CIA guy started explaining.

Make them respect you, or they will attack you more because they see you as weak.

They are asserting their dominance, and if you falter in the slightest they see you as less than them.”

That stuck with me, and it was true.

You could see they didn’t respect the guys who went out of their way to accommodate them, both in the way they acted towards American troops, and in the number of attacks on US Forces in the areas.

The mass man, Ortega argued, is defined by attitude rather than income. He is the ordinary person who is perfectly satisfied with himself, demands nothing higher of his own character or intellect, and yet insists that his mediocrity be treated as a right. He does not defer to excellence, competence, or higher standards. He regards them with suspicion or resentment. What previous ages saw as the privilege of the few - political influence, cultural authority, the right to shape society - the mass man now claims as his due, without any corresponding effort to rise above the average.

Ortega believed this type of person had been produced by the very success of modern civilisation. Rising living standards, mass education, and liberal institutions had given ordinary people unprecedented power and comfort. But they had not produced a corresponding sense of responsibility or humility before higher achievements. The result was a revolt: the mass man refused to accept the authority of superior knowledge, culture, or character. He demanded that everything be brought down to his level.

The danger, Ortega warned, was that a civilisation cannot survive if its central actors no longer respect the standards that made it possible. When the average begins to dominate without aspiring to anything beyond itself, excellence is undermined, institutions decay, and politics becomes an expression of resentment rather than responsibility.

Ortega’s diagnosis remains unsettling because it is not a complaint about poverty or exclusion. It is a warning about self-satisfied mediocrity armed with power.

Americans need to know the truth behind the story Zohran Mamdani used to say America needs to accept mass migration

Zohran Mamdani said “I consider my own faith, Islam, a religion built upon a narrative of migration. The story of the Hijra reminds us that Prophet Muhammad was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina."

Here’s the part that he left out and it’s VERY important

- Muhammad started his religion in Mecca, where he made about 70 converts until the citizens of Mecca literally chased him out of the city

- So he fled from Mecca to Medina, which was a mostly Jewish city that was occupied and controlled by 3 opposing Jewish tribes

- He then he made a treaty with the Jewish tribes, establishing himself for the first time as a political leader. So Muhammad continued to gain followers and grow politically and militarily until he eventually got big enough and strong enough that he just decided, "Well, I don't have to follow these treaties anymore." And so for two of the tribes, he voided the treaty, and he cast them out. He expelled them out of Medina.

- The final tribe that was still in Medina, he brought all of the men from the tribe into the middle of the city and beheaded them and then all of the women and the children from the tribe were either sold off or brought into slavery

Now this is the story that Zohran Mamdani references. “Prophet Muhammad was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina."

Yeah, except for within 5 years, Muhammad had killed, enslaved or expelled every Jew from Medina

Zohran Mamdani literally used this story as his reasoning to say we need to accept mass migration

The story ends with mass murder of the native people and the compelled takeover of the land by Muslims

Education – What the Globalist Project Did to It, and What We Build Instead.

Education was not captured last. It was captured first. Gramsci understood before anyone else that the school is the primary transmission mechanism of civilization – the place where the next generation learns what is true, what is admirable, and what kind of person it is worth becoming. Capture the school and you capture the future. Everything else follows.

What they did:

The curriculum – systematically hollowed.
The canon replaced by approved diversity. History reframed as a catalogue of Western crimes. Philosophy replaced by critical theory. The child who emerges from twelve years of this cannot read a primary source, cannot follow a logical argument, and cannot conceive of a standard of excellence that isn’t relative to group identity.

The teacher – replaced by the facilitator.
The transmission of knowledge replaced by the management of feelings. The result: a generation asked how it feels about everything and taught almost nothing.

The university – captured at the faculty level first, then the administration. A generation told that the credential is the competence, that the institution’s approval is the measure of the mind. A generation that borrowed a fortune to be told what to think by people selected specifically for their willingness to think it.

The assessment system – designed to measure conformity, compliance and memory, not intelligence and judgment. The child who questions the approved answer fails. Over twelve years, this selects for a specific type. It is not the type that built Western civilization.

What we build instead:

Restore the canon.
Homer, Virgil, Dante, Shakespeare, Cervantes, Dostoevsky – the accumulated wisdom of the civilization, encoded in forms beautiful enough to survive three thousand years. A child who has read them has the ability to recognize the pattern, name the thing, and understand where they stand in the long story of civilization.

Restore the teacher.
The person who knows more, who has read more, who can model what genuine excellence looks like – and who is trusted to transmit it. The relationship between the master and the student who learns by exposure to genuine competence is the oldest and most effective educational technology ever developed. It was deliberately dismantled. It must be deliberately rebuilt.

Restore genuine difficulty.
The education system that produces excellence demands it – sets a standard and holds to it. Difficulty is not cruelty. It is the mechanism by which genuine competence is produced.

Build the alternative institutions.
The classical school movement, the home education networks, the online formation programs that bypass the captured system entirely. Build the formation program for the next generation of civilizational builders – outside the system that would manage them into mediocrity.

Teach the civilizational grammar.
The difference between the Latin and Byzantine systems. The Herostratus instinct. The history of what was built, who built it, and what it cost. The vocabulary that allows people to name what they are experiencing – because a population with this vocabulary cannot be managed.

Make excellence visible.
The young person who has never seen genuine excellence has no target to aim for. The Sistine Chapel is the argument. The St. Matthew Passion is the argument. Surround children with the heights of what the civilization produced – and the implicit message is the most powerful educational intervention available: this is what human beings are capable of. You are a human being. What are you going to do with that?

The globalist project captured education first because it understood that the school is where civilization is either transmitted or replaced. The civilizational renaissance recaptures it the same way – one school, one teacher, one curriculum, one child at a time.

Raise geniuses. As an act of resistance.

Those jobs always fill with the same type of person: people drawn to power for its own sake, the ones who crave authority without ever answering for it. Bureaucracy doesn’t attract the best. It selects for the worst, then shields them when they inevitably screw up.

Hayek named this in The Road to Serfdom. His chapter “Why the Worst Get on Top” spelled out the logic. Unchecked power appeals most to the people least troubled by wielding it.
Mises found the engine underneath. In a market, a bad decision shows up as a loss, and losses remove you. Bureaucratic management faces no such test. Fail to fix a problem and you keep your job, then collect a bigger budget and a larger staff to keep failing with. The incentive runs backwards: waste earns you more, and the machine grows on its own.

Look at the European Union. Ursula von der Leyen presides over the Commission, the body that proposes almost all EU law. No European voter ever put her there. Heads of state handed her the post in a 2019 backroom deal and waved her through parliament. Christine Lagarde runs the European Central Bank, setting monetary policy for more than 340 million people and steering the value of the money in their pockets. She faced no voters for the job either.

You can throw out your national government every few years, but nothing above it moves, the apparatus stays. The unelected keep their offices, their pensions, their power, untouched by the only check ordinary people have.

This is the design, not a flaw in it. The people with the most control over your money and your future are the ones you are not allowed to fire.
