#COVID19 disease caused by Omicron can be mild or serious. For some people, symptoms can even lead to death.
Protect yourself:
Get vaccinated
Keep a safe distance and avoid crowds
Wear a well-fitted mask
Keep indoor spaces ventilated
Clean hands often
Cover coughs and sneezes
I start every class with an ultrasound picture of my son due in October, pleading with my students to wear masks as a personal favor to my family. In small, at-capacity classrooms, only 5 of 45 of my students wore a mask. I’ll never be able to look at this job the same way.
@HarkerDavid You can't fight silly with science... Why think rationally, when we could think emotionally? hmm.. oh I know! Peoples loved ones and livelihood! So sorry for this outcome. I support boat life.
I've been uncertain about what to post on social media about our current sutuation in the hospital , but this article needs to be out there and read. For those on my social media who are unvaccinated, please consider reading this 🧵 and article.
"Parents are living a repeat of the worst year of their lives—except this time, no matter what, kids are going back," @dansinker writes: https://t.co/m0uZq0arG2
@HarkerDavid First, I'm so sorry you're in the position. Second, we need to think of endpoints in children there aren't related to mortality. What about school absences, long hauler, clinic visits, hospitalizations, etc. If the one hospitalized kid was their child, they may feel differently.
