(5/n) Finally, tweaking ER morphology by overexpression or knockdown of ER str. proteins results in a switch in mode of cell migration. ER tubules promote perpendicular focal adhesions (FAs) & lamellipodial crawling; ER sheets promote parallel FAs & purse-string closure of gaps.
